Nice open.
What matters however is the rest of the week. For me it's always about the technical signals - improvements will see the short positions reduce which in turn should help the price.

Personally, I think the market will like the cash statement, but it's always very difficult to know.
Not long now.
*jd, appeals to a bigger demographic*
What does JD sell that ASOS doesn't? A few exclusive lines of trainers, but that's about it.
I'd actually say it's the other way around.
However, I wish you luck over at JD, it's another good play going forward in my opinion. No chance of the gains we're likely to see here over the next couple of years though.
Market was pricing this to fail and pricing this update to be dreadful.
Quite the opposite, in my honest opinion.
Could have £10bn in revenues - doesn't matter if the business can't make a profit.
Pretty sure I could sell £10bn worth of £20 notes for £5bn.
What matters is cash and profit and this is what the business is laser focused on.
Lon-term picture looks brighter this morning to me.
*Headline of 18% rev decline is horrendous.*
This is what I was saying last night - sure the media prints will be all over this. However, as you say, get the bonnet up and the engine is purring.
Looks like a pretty decent update to me.
No fireworks but a little better than steady as she goes..
See how the market reacts.
All good Tom. Can smell that garlic though from this side of the Bridge.
Don’t feel concerned about tomorrow at all.
Perhaps o should be?! Ha
Thanks for explaining the loaning of shares issue Simon and for laying out the bear case a little.
I disagree and expect them to confirm guidance. If they don’t manage to do so then the investment case here is blown wide open, given how poor the guidance is and how big the target is for them to hit. They are guiding for sales to slow considerably near-term, but the picture has been mixed from those who have reported already. So, if anything there’s a glimmer of hope that they may surprise slightly to the upside. Less likely but more so than to the downside which is already priced in.
However, when they confirm guidance, the initial headlines won’t be great - ‘ASOS sales down ‘X’ etc… but maintains guidance’ - so Simon you might get your 5-10% before a recovery on the day or whatever. But it’ll be a nice nod to the future for us longs with an eye on the next year or two.
All speculation, which will end tomorrow.

See you there boys and girls.
Nice strong finish bodes well, I'd say.
Large UT on the way.

£7 close.
Will be here soon, never fear.
People asking when the trading update is or how we know it's March 26 would do well to check the company website:

How have you managed that, TomBeef?
No one asked staff to come in on Easter Sunday - taring in them away from family, children, plans etc... imagine the size of an ego that would do that. Just a load of nonsense.
And you know this how Rock8? Because he posted this confession on the BB??
Don't listen to nonsense you read on BB - might as well pop your head around the door in the local pub, shout buy or sell?, and go with whichever answer comes first.
Offer inbound?
Notice the conspicuous absence of green boxes - suggests the robots here have been switched off ...for now.
Does all feel a little amateur.
However, I wouldn't have known of the podcast or explicit details of the note, if MM hadn't trumpeted them from his LinkedIn soapbox.
Why on earth would they want to do that?
The LSE is a basket case. Be interesting to watch it's share price get destroyed over the next few years though.
Yep being stepped down by very small sell after small sell.
Wouldn't surprise me if it closes around even or slightly down.
