Pokerchips - I suggest you read the post I was replying to. If people wish to short - fine. However the post suggested he/she would prefer a company to go bust - just to make maximum profit - not nice is it?

Do you not agree that this will mean wild swings for Whetstone as one or two traders can REALLY effect the share price? Are you able .. to discuss?

Well I am shocked by your insensitive last comment... ok, some people short because they see a share as over valued. I can understand this. However to wish a company to fall to zero, to go bust, to be forgotten by history, to see thousands lose their jobs .. just to make a bit of personal profit .. just reminds me why i will never short and why i don't like shorters (sorry) Surely growth (buying a share) is better than decline (shorting)?

Spary1, of course a shareholder will be quite happy about such a movement. However surely you agree it should be based on actual news rather than "someone" trying to push the share price higher for a yet unknown reason? Remember it can work both ways! Lets see what happens next.. (re CLP .. shocking share price atm)

Well I repeat, I care. Do you never invest in a company because you shop there or you buy their goods? Do you have no interest in the people, product or history of x company? I do. I rather invest in companies were I think they are making a positive contribution. Rarely do I invest in oil etc. We are all different and maybe some just look for a trading opportunity rather than care about what the company actually is involved in. I care about Debenhams .. due to personal reasons.. I also care that they survive .. but at the same time .. I do still a trading opp :-)

Fonters, I am presuming that was a jokey post ... of course I have been in countless AIM shares that have moved 50% in a day ... however NOT ON ONE TRADE -!!! Of course several large trades might effect an AIM share without news but it is exceptionally rare.. with Whetstone.. we are talking about a single £1k trade moving the share price 50% - well if that is the sort of share you want to be in .. ok!?!?

Ok well I admit a £1k trade is not insider trading - my point is why the jump from 15-18p to 28p? It doesn't make sense unless someone knows something imho... as I said, if a seller wants a price far higher that the last trade .. they might as well try it on ... and someone was obviously prepared to take the bait!!
With a share on AIM etc. the market makers move the share price based on demand and volume ... a share price would not jump from 18p to 28p overnight or for no reason - so I guess that's one benefit of being on Britdaq. Perhaps someone should try £1 to sell and see if someone is tempted?

Do the rules relating to inside information trading relate to Britdaq as well? Just that why buy at 28p when you probably could have acquired shares at a lower price - as it is a negotiation between two parties. With no market makers the share price can move significantly either way ie. if a seller wants 50p .. a buyer may - for whatever reason - be prepared to buy them at or close to this price. News is due but traders have a big impact on the share price unlike other markets

How kind of Amazon to pay even less tax in increased revenue and profits, while Debenhams pay more than their fair share to the HMRC. Reform business rates otherwise if Debsdowner and HoF and others go bust - the revenue from business rates will tank!

Agree, although the new data protection laws might not allow our actual names to be published to all ... also some may still get around by having fake real names... final point - so if you knew the actual person .. what's next? You would still have to prove what they saying is untrue - whether a ramp or a deramp ... The legal proceedings may assist shareholders - but there is no guarantee of success .. whatever happens, it will be interesting.... (and new info might come out)

You have seen the charts? Takeover at 100p when the share price is 12p..? I don't think so. Usually a company will offer a premium at 2-3 times market value max. So IF the company starts to tecover, we eventually will see a higher share price. However 100p is way off the horizon imho for several years - presuming the company recovers..

New article in Telegraph casting more doubt on the survival of House of Fraser. Sightly different market to Debenhams.. l'll miss the stores if they go bust. Some good quality bed linen in the sale at the moment and their closure will leave a big gap in some towns - I hope the landlords compromise and the new investor puts the cash in.. to

Well shorts at 30p s/b closing. Maybe new shorts see a CVA coming and a 6-8p share price? I hope not...

Never heard of this guy .. must be connected to the Rangers saga but if his actions caused .. in any way .. the continued suspension and eventual liquidation of Worthington -persue it though the courts! TBH I would sure it would be SP or Tom W..

We can wish ... although with the share price at an all time low .. it may attract interest except the leases/debt might put off a takeover. BTW 1,300 posts in a month - I'm impressed - especially considering the sunny weather (no dig intended - i recall being very active in my early days on LSE then slowing down after a while - we are all different)

So many new posters on here ... stressing about a RNS... quite amusing... we know news is due today and any LTH will know that CLP is not the quickest in providing updates. Indeed, out of the last 30+ RNSs .. only 7 were issued at 7 am!!

Guys, there is no point making It personal.. tbh I have made it personal on occasions and have finally decided it gets you nowhere .. it is up to the company to prove you right or wrong..

To be fair, there were a number of RNSs in Sept/Oct 2014 before suspension and quite a few (mostly updates) afterwards.. I cannot recall a RNS about Whetstone or liquidation or court cases - hasn't this all been via the AE blog? So -- to be fair to AE -- he kept shareholders in the picture - and some posters on here did likewise (another unique part of the story).. so I wonder why Worthington never updated shareholders? Thursday will be interesting .. TW most likely candidate.. or someone connected to Rangers?
