Now that is a positive development and surprised no retailer (to my knowledge) has considered this before... if advertised well this could really help the pre Christmas trading as so many still use their cars to shop and obviously a car is needed for big ticket items. (i can't drive to it's the bus or bike for me lol - not easy with a 52 inch smart TV - ok i know i can get it delivered)

Yet another RNS ... at least there's a number this time although no revenue forecast.. maybe today is the day we will see 27p lol (will not be surprised to see a jump back to 0.8p as the share price is up and down like a yo-yo atm)

Awful stores? LOL. There will be a few that need updating but I can only speak from experience. Bath and Newport are nice bright modern and packed every time I go. Bristol is probably a bit too large. Of course you can always shop online as some great offers tomorrow if you can't use your legs or like fresh air :-)

This isn't really the thread to discuss Brexit - except that it obviously effects this company and literally every company listed (although only 6% of business actually ONLY trade with the EU). The public were given the decision and in 1975 it was to join the Common Market and 2016 to leave the EU - so they should carry out this decision as per all other referendum decisions. However because both remain and leave camps are fixed in their agendas (FoA tariff free trade or migration control/"taking back control") I think the best answer is to compromise with the EEA/Norway model as at least then both sides will see some boxes ticked. There's been enough blaming and hating one another so lets get a decision ASAP and move forward - it will help INTU and many other companies like retailers too.

DC2007 - you do realise for hundreds of years before 1973 the UK was not in the EU? We will obviously suffer leaving but it depends on whether you rather your country makes most of its own decisions (democracy) or whether being a tad richer is more important to the individual. 52% decided democracy was more important. What will be worse is if the politicians - after asking the public to make the choice - are either incapable of taking us out of the EU in the least painful way or are mad enough to ask the public the same question again but in a slightly different worded way - btw some argue the 52% did not understand the choice or the details - what makes anyone think the public has somehow become a lot more able to understand a 558 page agreement or what it actually means to remain or stay in the EU. BTW the fall in this share is not 100% related to brexit - high street retailer sales have fallen for a number of years thanks to the internet - this isn't an quick fix is it? Although the share price fall seems overdone and I will be monitoring going forward gla

I'm obviously not an expert in property/rents etc. and I acknowledge a CVA has to be kept on the table re options going forward. There's no guarantee that a CVA will resolve matters or that the landlords will play ball. So Debenhams can either slowly close stores over a 2-3 year period or bite the bullet and take out 30 stores at the same time.. I think we both agree it cannot be doing the employee morale any good not knowing how this will all pan out..

Well I can't recall you ever posting there but i take your word for it - also if you look at the thread i am not one of the recent posters - so don't say I am on there 24/7 - that company is unique re gifted shares etc. and I post there because I want to see how it pans out. My point though remains - any one can post - that is fine - so you are right to say i wouldn't get ott with other non holders posting - but with WGR he is not even posting sense - he is trashing this thread imho - and i find it annoying. As i said - Debenhams is not due to report now until January - so I don;t intend to post much here for a while any way gl elsewhere

Sains - I work in retail - i know people at Debenhams - I might invest at a later date - ok? I held Worthington - the share has been suspended for four years - but nice to know you are stalking posters to see were else they post just to make a point. I have posted 20000 times over 7 years on 100 odd different shares - most i held at one point or another. I dont have to defend myself to you or anyone else. ok? You do all realise that there has been around 24 separate RNS new releases since the beginning of June? That's over one a week.. yes court case news is due.. the lack of news on the bond conversion is positive imho - seems like most will convert at the share price premium. Some of us have been here (on and off) years (!!) so another week or so isn't going to hurt. There are always the daily p&d shares to invest in if you are bored here :-)

I also read that many of the Black Friday bargains can be found at the same price in the periods before and after the day. Only a few offers are legit. Black Friday only started in 2011 and I don't like it. It really damages retailers margins and effects the December pre Christmas trading. Then we have the January sales.. so do people really wait for one particular day when some retailers - sadly including Debenhams - have sales on most of the year! If Debenhams really wish to resolve margins and profits - they will need to bite the bullet and go back in time when they only had the Spring sale, the Autumn sale, mega day and the January sales. All these mid season sales lose their value/impact imho

I see you been debating on another BB. Decided to stay off as it was becoming so toxic with a few posting non stop negatives. Complete waste of time as shoppers don't read BBs or care about share prices. If the products are fair value and attractive customers will buy at your store. Obviously a few stores are old and need to either close or have some capital expenditure. Maybe Brexit might not effect spending this Christmas compared to last year but it's a vital period for Debs. As least the CEO is bullish.

You are definitely bring a proactive shareholder visiting the stores... not planning to visit any international stores are you? :-)

MA may have to wait a very long time then as administration is not likely for the foreseeable future. The CEO is positive and made a purchase recently. Costs have been cut and as far as we know the company is still making an underlying profit. Black Friday seems a success. I could go on but also remember MA is closing HoF stores so has enough on his plate for now sorting his new acquisition out without buying another company.

bokari - I had all my SIPP in 1-2 investments once and the stress was unbelievable. Thankfully they came good and I made a decent amount - my point is that it probably isn't a good idea to have most/all of your SIPP pension in one investment - however much you believe it will come good. I go for high risk investments - but make sure it is not the end of the world if one goes belly up gl

You are almost definitely nearer the end than the beginning :-).. Worthington needs resolving one way or the other. 1) if its good news it can relist and then Whetstone is either a bonus or perhaps will merge into one of the companies 2) if it is bad news and Worthington does not come back - the focus will be 100% on Whetstone gl

As I said he is overpaid - but lets be honest - he is not alone. Probably over half the directors on AIM .. indeed on all the various markets .. are overpaid.. Director pay has soared when the mere mortals pay has flat lined. eg. is the Bet365 lady really worth £250 million per year? I doubt it - you are never going to be able to spend it any way! (you might try). Any future fund raising should have clear aims and target dates of various goals to justify it - I see potential but agree for far too long most of the money has been going to pay the top dogs

Britdaq is not perfect is it? IF I want to buy Whetstone and put in a 10p price to buy them - I have to wait to see if anyone if prepared to sell me their shares for 10p - at the moment it will not happen. If someone wants to sell them for 35p - at the moment that's quite high so you will have to wait. Indeed the share price spread is mad - 16p to buy requests and 35p to sell requests - that's 100%. At least on a proper exchange usually market markets control the share price don't they? There will be a spread but if you go to a market maker when the share price is 20p and say "I want to sell for 30p" they will tell you to wait until the live price reaches this level to fill your order.
The truth is unknown but do you agree a few small trades from pushed the share price back from 16p to 25p with no new information available because some were prepared to pay this price and sellers were available? That's NOT manipulation BUT if only takes a few trades to get a few posters OTT excited - currently for no reason.
BTW before you ask I held Worthington - this is a discussion thread were any one is allowed to post - and if Whetstone was on a proper exchange with regular news flow I'll buy ok..

You make some valid points and the RNS isn't much in itself - at least we get regular updates now. Also agree the share price needs to be north of 1p to warrant any equity issue - it might be useful to look at alternative funding like a loan note convertible into shares at x price. Also agree one director is paid too much.
However we are you and I still here? It's because small volume can cause significant share price movement (although the spread is a negative). It may not take much "positive" news to move this back around 2p imho - who knows but I'm sticking around for the foreseeable gl
