Just remember the share price was over 10p not that long ago - imho it's oversold .. s/b 7-8p really - maybe all the sellers have left now?

Quick point - it's possible to have a positive view on x share and a negative view on another share. Agree best not to make it personal GLA here

If Brandes wish to continue to reduce their exposure - and incur significant realised losses - that's up to them.
They are either going to look very wise ... or very stupid .. in a few weeks time.
No one expects brilliant news - the sector is in a dire state - but hopefully the company is still making an underlying profit and the online business is picking up the flak of the high street decline - we will soon know!

So Boom - what's your agenda? You are well known for appearing on shares on the move and ramping 24/7 - trying to get a lower entry price? Be honest - it's the best policy.
So you think our largest shareholder - which has been supportive for years - will suddenly call in loans due today? Don't you think the most likely option will be that the loans will be extended to 31st March 2019 or later? I do.

The update is due Friday...

Not in the short term, but I suspect more share issues over the next year (hopefully more bond conversions etc). This option might reduce the share price spread and perhaps less wild sp movements. Just throwing this option out there.

Hopefully another RNS later today. Markets close early today (?). If so, then the last RNS is usually around 2pm. With over 500 million shares now in issue, it might be time for the company to consider a share consolidation ?

Lol yes we know that a trading update is due on the 4th January. Been known for a while. Let's wait and see. Hoping for a surprise on the up side.

LA, let's be honest - most posters have an agenda. I want to see the positive posts more than the negative posts to justify why I continue to hold here. Shareholders want to see a higher price - that's obvious - and most shareholders here think there is significant upside. Others are more cautious eg. I don't think you have said the share price is too high - just that you need further good news to warrant reinvesting. Fair enough.

Just an quick post to say one of my new year resolutions is not to post on this thread next year - unless I acquire a holding. I wish holders good luck and to try to have an open mind. Forget about Worthington - does it matter if it relists or not? The reason Whetstone was set up imho were two fold 1) to give you guys a chance to get your money back - this is unique and deserves high praise and 2) to give the backers (the team) a way of making money too via deals - lets not pretend otherwise. This new deal has potential but must be viewed as a long term investment 3-5 years - i also doubt it was one of the ten deals mentioned 3-4 years ago - what happen to them? Any way its clear no one listens to one another - which is fine - JohnBri is a holder - he has stated this for years - i don't see a reason why he is not telling the truth but tbh he should not now be so bitter as he has a chance to get his money back - like the rest of you. It doesn't mean you would not be capable of having the odd moan or asking the odd question...
Any way good luck for next year.. hopefully i will see a few of you on other threads

Don't forget more news is due - maybe even tomorrow and posters opinions can change on events as well as what the share price is trading at. I do sometimes think it would be a useful tool for posters to state their share price target to sell/buy as no one really knows what a poster thinks. One poster might think 1p is a good price to sell while another might think 3p etc. We all have different opinions on what X company is worth - that's why I enjoy BB posting. GLA for the new year!

The difference with me rhough, as you know re the other share is that I have been open about my entry price. A poster can be positive about one share and neutral/negative about another share. Some posters only post on 1-2 threads or shares they hold while other posters, like me, will also post on shares they held or might invest in. It's not about tactics - they don't work - it's giving reasons why you think a share is a buy-hold-sell. I don't agree with most of what LA is saying because I believe RKB posts from research and knowledge of the company - but he is entitled to post here - like you and I can post here or elsewhere. Just remember there is the filter button if you don't like to read the alternative view

Don't get hung up on individual posters - we both know non holders post on all company threads - might be ex holders - interested in company/sector or looking at a lower entry price - the key thing that should matter is that if YOU are happy to hold the share - then continue to wait for developments. Nothing anyone posts on a BB will change what the company will RNS in the weeks ahead. What perhaps LA should also realise is that there are a few investment companies that trade on sharp premiums to NAV - I guess the history of CLP might be a barrier to this - but constant positive news flow may change this in 2019 :-)

Foolish? The share price had dropped from 58p to 20p and some would have acquired shares at 20p because they thought it was at the bottom - yes, they were wrong - but not foolish - they were not to know that the shorters would go on full attack mode and bring the share price down to stupid oversold levels (imho)... now presuming the trading update is not as dire as soon expect AND we see progress on their turnaround plans - buying now may bring dividends and the 20p buyers may eventually get their money back... of course this is not certain but I don't fell anyone holding shares in a company that has been around decades are foolish - they just have a higher risk profile

Whatever way you look at it - eg. if you borrow £100k via bonds .. then you exchange the bonds for shares .. at a five fold premium .. you a) reduce your debt and b) increase your NAV - lets be grateful that the bonds have not been exchanged at a discount!!

I do think it's out of order to rant about another company and events that happen 20-30 years ago! For a start most of the employees are rather young so probably were not even born when you had these bad experiences. Also to call them "unemployed losers" is outrageous.. Thousands lose their jobs in various sectors every year - they are not "losers" - they are the victims of poor management and changing spending habits - it is NOT THEIR FAULT

A few possible reasons for the rise 1) shorts closing 2) trading update due 4th January - news either leaked or buying ahead of news and 3) possible 2019 newspaper tip?

WGR - do you look for arguments? Bath an outpost? pmsl - it's in the TOP FIVE tourist places to visit in the UK!!!
BTW I live in Bristol - you know.. the 7th largest city in the UK... if you want to discuss out posts - then east of Swindon might be near the top of the list... (for the record the bus/train service from Bristol to Bath is decent and Bath is on the main Bristol to London Paddington railway line).. Bath also has a decent shopping centre - I visited Swindon once .. never again :-) right rant over - time to filter the attention seeker

I also would hope/expect a re-rate in 2019 .. I am quite happy to state that I am still a buyer and would not consider selling a single share for less than 1.5p - I think that's a modest target.. which hopefully I will be able to upgrade if the news flow remains positive - thanks all during the year for your great (mostly) positive comments - I have found it informative and helpful
