I dont want to sound entirely pessimistic, but it annoys me that PIs are persuaded to:
...hold for gold!
...patience is key!
...too many short termers here...
etc
The disingenuous ramping is a pathology of the social media age, where "truth" is no longer assured by a look in the eye or a firm handshake. Truth doesn't exist on platforms like this, and I know this because I have "believed"...
There are good opportunities for private investors to make money on the stock market, but this illiterate inertia where people tell you to hold on to your stock as its value drops is just not fair. It's playing on the psychology of possession and ownership: We stick up for our choices and welcome herd affirmations.
The best advice I ever got was to consider each morning that your stock wasn't in shares in a bunch of companies, but in cash: Where would you put it, today?
Look at the double-top in early December 2020. That's when they started offloading...
