Bioprogress (BPRG:AIM) has secured a worldwide patent for its thin oral nicotine strip, which it plans to market as an anti-smoking product in the future. The ‘melt in the mouth’, under the tongue strip will contain a rapidly absorbed low dose of nicotine to help stave off the craving felt by smokers trying to kick the habit and will start clinical trials next year. Bioprogress says the UK market alone for anti-smoking products is worth £88 million and that it is in talks with potential commercial partners to take the product to market. Shares in the company have dipped recently after it carried out a £6.2 million placing to help fund the acquisition of private US company AirPharma, which specialises in therapeutic products for respiratory diseases. However, they are expected to recover on the back of more positive announcements and there should be plenty of partners looking to license its anti-smoking product.
Recipe for success on tip of the tongue at Bioprogress" - says Shares Mag. Very upbeat item that shows that a wider interest in BPRG is at last beginning to form.

anyone else miss it ? Barclays daily summary 07/11/06 Inion again says no reason for slide Struggling medical implant group Inion gave its share price a lift today as it said there was no reason for the hammering its shares have taken over the past six weeks. "Inion notes the recent decline in the company's share price and confirms that it is not aware of any reason for this decline. The company announced interim results for the 6 months to 30 June 2006 on 5 September, and remains confident of meeting the current market expectations, which were updated at the time of the interims," it said. The Finnish group issued a similar statement in early October, but that did nothing to reverse the slide in the shares, which have lost over 70% of their value this year.
Inion Oy, which is developing biodegradable medical implants, jumped 23.7 per cent to 28¾p amid talk that management of the Finnish company was planning a buy-out priced at 35p.*

This is one of the most interesting RNS i have ever seen. £6.2 Billion cancer budget. No toxic effects. %50 reduction in tumour sizes. If you have not got any of these tucked away you must be crazy.
