TMT there is a tax advantage! Certainly in the U.K. and so probably Aus, the gain between option price at issue and exercise price is subject to income tax. If income tax is higher than CGT (which it is here for a high income earner) then by exercising early you minimise income tax and benefit from the remaining long term gain at lower CGT. Why are so many people fixated on a transaction all executives with options do at a point that best suits their own tax position!!! Leave GH and move on!

I think the vast majority of LTHs here would say neither are priced in and that’s why this share is so exciting!

Also remember he saved us in the initial Covid crash by stepping in and buying shares at 2.7 or something like that. That action stopped the price crash and initiated an immediate reversal. We owe GH a lot!!

Guys calm down. Look at it this way. Options are part of remuneration and taxed that way. So he exercises his options and he pays income tax on the difference between option price and market price. If he assumes the price will continue to rise, the tax liability gets higher and higher. He exercises now and sells some to pay his tax liability and now his only liability is CGT on any further gain. This is standard practice for execs !!!!!!!!!!!!!

All agreed but why do a profit share? This is not a normal distribution agreement where the distributor must buy a minimum order per year to incentivise sales. Here these guys have no apparent obligation to buy and profit share on limited sales because they see a better opportunity elsewhere, is worth nothing. I am in AVCT for the medium term but this is a strange deal to me

Warbutter you are focusing on the wrong number. We can't break out of 9p on the bid because of sellers and it's been that way for a long time now. We are hovering above and if that gets momentum today (and I feel it might), then even 9.5p will be easy to breach

My personal experience of acquisitions (doing them) is that you want to retain highly specialised skills and thus if it were me buying I would retain it in the UK, at least for the medium-term and incentivise the key people to stay and work on the development agenda with some lucrative earnout arrangements or equity stake in the new parent company. I agree that Danaher is the most likely initial suitor as they already know AVCT and as you say they have raised money with the specific declared aim of acquisitions

Wolfie you don't need to take a month position, but if you do then you can set it to automatically roll onto the next contract. Personally I use the DFB rate which is continuous.
Peter, on IG if you buy less than 1702 (which equates to 170,200 shares) the margin is 20%. After that it really ramps up.

In my opinion the For Sale board is now up at AVACTA. The RNS made it clear they need a 'partner' to fund the new work and it seems to me the big Pharma companies would see much greater long-term value in now making an acquisition offer at this early stage given all the broad development work AVCT has ongoing. AVCT already have Cytiva (GE Lifesciences) on board and they, in turn, are owned by the huge Danahaer. Why would Danaher want the likes of a GSK sniffing around AVACTA???

In their tweet a few days ago ODX said there was nothing to stop non-listed RTC parties disclosing progress and I suspect they really wanted them to do so. Hopefully this is us, but it doesn’t necessarily mean an RNS tomorrow.

I think you and I are on exactly the same page Timber. Newcrest (according to their presentation this week) earn $300m of free cash flow from Lihir every year and have masses of cash to spend and a low debt ratio is - and that combination isn't a positive measure for the Markets as they will want to see the cash just raised used for good effect ie growth; it earns nothing in the bank! If it occurs, it will not be an aggressive acquisition, but one that appropriately rewards GGP and accepts some risk for NCM. Primorous, our institutional investor is also confident of a buy out.

I think we are in agreement Ipad (bizarrely given your 'no way' comment) GGP need to do some drill work on SW and that is just waiting to get going and was put on hold for Covid. Providing they prove some of their magnetic data up, then why wouldn't that provide a basis for NCM to consider a purchase, regardless of it's size. I can tell you from personal senior experience in big multinationals, that they do not like or want JV's, but hey accept that they are sometimes necessary to get an entry point. JV's are costly, complicated and hard to get out of. Acquisition is much preferred and I have no doubt NCM will buy all of HAV and I personally believe they may try to buy all of GGP. Just my opinion

Remember NCM bought into Hav on the basis of the very detailed data presented by GGP. If GGP can do the same for Scallwag and they already say the magnetic data is very similar to Hav, why wouldn't NCM pay a fair price for everything? Of course that won't be the full value, but equally it shouldn't be nominal value.

It’s good to see some stability and hopefully some small daily rises from here. The presentation yesterday should have made GGP a sound investment even for the doubters, but sadly this once great board has been invaded by so many people who just spout rubbish because they never made a fortune on the NCM quarterly results. We need more Padfygalls and Magictrades on here!!
