Wow!

Not sure how important this is but it should be noted that regulatory approval is not due to be given until the end of May. Here's the line from the RNS: "Subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals with completion expected around end-May 2014". Shareholder approval was achieved at the EGMs last week. Maybe the big boys are waiting for the farmout to be officially approved? I don't know.

Granto, nothing would surprise me about Natlata but by law they must declare their holdings. I'm trying not to be overly positive here but I genuinely think it worked out well for us. The farmout was a shoo-in but the board got a bit of a kick which will make India Oil watch over them carefully. What Natlata do now is crucial. I've said it before but I think they'll come out and support the farmout (if they do anything at all). They can make millions out of a relatively small sp increase. We'll see.

Why would someone sell nearly 7,000 pounds worth of shares minutes after a good RNS? Each to their own, I suppose.

Well 'overwhelmingly'? The farmout romped home but the directors got a deserved kick in the bum although they still got home safely.

It's done and dusted. Shareholders overwhelmingly supported the board. Onwards and upwards.

The last AGM (2013) results were published via RNS on the same day. Same with the last time PTR held an EGM. I would imagine RNS comes first. With regards to today I suppose it depends how long the meeting goes on for but I would have thought it'd be over by now.

Granto, I agree. If Natlata fail in all their objectives tomorrow (which I think they will) they will probably come out in support of the farmout. They've been very quiet for a week now and also their main man (Korobov?) already implied he'd support the bailout if it's good enough. He'll claim their queries about the farmout were answered and he's happy now. To do anything else would be throwing money away. Natlata stand to make a very serious financial killing here.

Granto, I expect things will sort themselves out just after the EGM. The Russia/Ukraine issue certainly hasn't helped. The delay in the signing off of the farmout hasn't helped. Overall, if the proposals are passed at the EGM and Natlata support the farmout (which they will if they're over-ruled at the meeting) I can see the share rising sharply. Personally, I'll sell at 14p and buy back in at 10p (shares almost always spike and then settle). Either way or whatever way, I still think Natlata's involvement has been a good thing for the sp.

Sells completely outweighing buys today and as of 15:41 the sp is rising? Woner what would happen if a big buy came in!

Funluving, read through Petroneft's RNSs. The deal with the MacQuarie deal was published months ago. It had to be by stock exchange rules. At the time the new arrangement was organised it was deemed a good thing by shareholders. That arrangement has been honoured by Petroneft without fail. The drilling crowd have a previous relationship with PTR and this is also public knowledge. Again, shareholders thought this was a good thing. The other thing you're forgetting is that India Oil are no fools. They are a huge international oil and gas company. They went ahead with the farmout regardless of what Natlata have to say because Natlata is a mere irritant to them. Like the vast majority of shareholders, I dislike the BoD's way of doing business. Irregular RNSs, time frames always missed without as much as an apology and so on. But looking at Natlata's pathetic behaviour in the last couple of weeks I'm definitely sticking with the far lesser of two evils.

Ultrapunch, throwing around comments laced with faux-sincerity such as "you don't sound that bright" actually defeats any point you were trying to make. Other people can make their own mind up whether I' 'bright' or not. You've told the poster mline not "to be silly", you accused another poster of posting nonsense, you've patronised Billy, Stav and pretty much most people that disagree with your viewpoint. Now that's not being bright. You tore in to the poster Lucan all because you misread his post (you missed the acronym ' cfd'). You stated in your sickeningly condescending way that " the FT journalist is sadly delusional, I'm afraid". Another put down from you: "can you explain your post, Jason as I don't understand your logic." Another time you attacked the poster TonyBaby because you didn't realise he was joking (although you said later you did see his winks but you still attacked him!). And that's what I found after a 5 minute look back at the last 2/3 weeks. There's much more of your patronising, condescending superiority complex on earlier posts but I couldn't be arsed posting it. Let me tell you what I think highlights a lack of brightness: when someone trolls a chat discussion day after day when he doesn't even hold shares in the company being discussed. Lol. I have zero hope but the best of luck to shareholders of MTA (you know, punchy, people that actually HAVE shares in MTA), who still retain hope, I mean that. The source for the item that paints him in colours I'd already heard about. DYOR on the source of the article (not the website the link is on because the website is sensationalist). The link itself is from an agenda-driven source but it is exactly what I'd heard from fairly reliable sources. Gla.

Fair enough, looney-tune. But remember this: the only people that have actually made millions so far in this con have been the very people you cite as being trustworthy. The only ones to have lost money are those they've fooled for years and (in ever decreasing numbers) they continue to fool. I wish you good luck, regardless.

Magpie, Looneytune, if there was an iota of hope I'd be screaming it from the rooftops but there isn't. Over the early years they consistently produced extremely positive RNSs. When the share price began to fall the RNSs became even more positive. When the sp plummeted they were more positive again. When they stunned us by suspending trading they were so convincingly upbeat and positive that many here (not me) couldn't wait for the suspension to be over because the money was going to row in. We even had a good-time thread here where those still believing the bullshyt were asked to predict how high the opening sp would be when trading resumed. What happens next? They shock the believers by voluntarily de-listing. Yet still some people think Barskiy gives a damn about us. Having stopped believing pre the suspension I'm simply stunned a small few refuse to see the light. Days after de-listing they get 10m dollars and still the believers believe. Now, after an utterly predictable EGM there are still a tiny number of people believing. It beggars belief. Seriously, what do they have to do for you to take the hint? Two final things. Firstly, Einstein stated that the definition of madness is trying the same thing over and over again in the same way whilst hoping for a different result. Secondly, Looney tune, you asked me if I thought Barskiy has a vendetta again small shareholders. Lol. No. We're not even on his radar. To quote a line from Scrubs after JD has shagged his bosses wife. He's wondering if she likes or hates him. She looks at him with complete indifference and says:"I 'nothing' you." Barskiy doesn't have a vendetta against small shareholders, he 'nothings' us. We are completely and utterly irrelevant, neither cherished nor scorned, simply irrelevant. That all said, I genuinely hope suckers like me who've lost thousands on this shower get lucky elsewhere. One thing I learned from MTA over the years is to never, ever believe what any companies' RNSs say - EVER. I think Stav put it nicely earlier when he said believe in their actions, never their words. This has helped me with other companies but at a price. GLA.

I'm not trying to be negative, just stating facts. This bit is a guess based on years of experience of businessmen.: I wouldn't be surprised if Barskiy and his buddies are sitting at a bar with their ties loosened and breaking their hearts laughing at us and how easily they got away from the meeting. I doubt if there has ever been an EGM involving a voluntarily de-listed company that has ended any other way. - they're THAT good at fooling us...over and over and over again....

Billy, you should ask if it's ok to record the meeting as recording a meeting without those being recorded knowing MAY (not sure) be illegal. I know it's illegal in a one on one meeting.
