Why would CGNR release an RNS about KDR? I know the Prof's connected to both but this is a first.

I'm currently a very interested observer, EB. I was in Fastnet in the good old days and manged to get out without being hurt. I don't think anyone could be blamed for the price of oil crash. The BOD here are quite dynamic and I like their no bs style. I am aware there is competition out there with other pharmas producing similar products but, like Olderandwiser, I need to some more research. Most here are legacy holders from an oily and many here have zero knowledge of pharmas. I have a little knowledge of the glacial-like speed these new medical products production move at so I do agree there'll most likely be a buy-out. The big question is 'when?' That question goes to why I'm still waiting. PIs are notoiously impatient so I would expect the sp to drop while we wait for further news. At some stage I expect the sp to start rising - I just want to get in at the lowest possible sp! Dangerous game as I've missed out on others before but I've also gotten in very low on one or two. Anyway, best of luck.

Early bird, everything you say is right but your last paragraph is grasping. Getting a patent in the US is par for the course. It has nothing to do with business nous whatsoever. It's like saying what a wonderful piece of business nous it was for a mining company to buy a drill bit. It's what they do. To not do so would be insane. Lol. Please keep this one real. It does not need embellishment.

There's always opposition to patenting anything in the US - especially in the mega-billion dollar pharma industry.

Early_Bird, any BOD who wouldn't get a patent on their drugs would have to be..well..on drugs. The US granting of a patent is a decent step forward for Amryt but it also very much a formality. In other words, without patents being granted around the world there'd be no business at all! I'm keeping an eye on Amryt because I like the new direction the BOD have taken but there is still a long, long way to go before commercialisation (being very positive, I'd say a year or year and a half, being negative I'd say 3 or 4 years). Of course the length of time to commercialisation would be moot if there is a takeover. EB, I haven't been researching Amryt as much as I was before (although I am very interested) so could you point me in the direction of what RNS or news item or whatever indicates that the idea is to sell up, please. My first ever investment was in a company called AGI Therapeutics which I bought in at 3c (three cent (Euro)) and which ended up being taken over for 9c. AGI was also listed on the ISEQ (just like Amryt) , as was Elan. Whilst AGI was a triple-bagger for me, Elan was sold for 8.6 billion dollars!! So, there is definitely precedent for Irish pharmas setting up to be taken over. Some excellent links/articles can be found by entering 'drug patents usa' into Google.

Interesting sercher70. Seems like deja vu all over again... The sp was at 33p (0.33p in old money) when our broker Hybridian predicted a short-term 'share price appreciation' a couple of weeks ago. The sp has dropped over 20% since that magnificent prediction. If there is by some miracle an sp rise it certainly will have nothing to do with Hybridian's duff gen.

Hi Lionel. I see your post now and you really hit the nail on the head with your email. Fair play to you. I'm not really surprised MTR did not reply to you. They are just bottom feeders although I must admit I do like their business model - invest in companies with great potential but are going nowhere and maybe one of them will pay off soon! (I'm having ongoing problems with this website and occasionally other posters' posts do not show up until a day or two after they post - if at all.)

I gather after re-reading your post , goheavy, that even you don't understand what you're saying. Your post really makes no sense. Try humility.

Lionel, did MTR reply to you? goheavy, your 'links' have all been debunked on numerous occasions. I'd be happy to debunk them again should you choose to issue them. I understand your anger, frustration, loss. As I said in my earlier post you were OTT in your condemnation and thus lost any credibility. A more balanced approach from you three years ago may well have saved me money! As it was, you sounded like a lunatic.

Lionel, fair play to you for emailing MTR. I thought long and hard about doing that too. Did you get a reply? With regards to goheavy, his previous warnings were based on the hopes and aspirations of the Professor (and in one case a member of CGNR staff caught in the headlights) rather than any definitive statement made by the latter. goheavy's posts are affected by extreme bitterness and the points of value he may have had were lost in the hyperbole of anti-Prof nonsense. Even referring to 'locals' and 'people I know', and frankly, libellous tales about the Prof's time with Galmoy for which the Prof is widely lauded. I absolutely understand goheavy's anger at being shafted, I really do, but maybe even he might admit he went about his 'warnings' the wrong way. The Prof did categorically state in 2014 that something would happen within 3 years. He didn't say 'hope' or 'expect', he said it would happen. To be honest, I couldn't be ar5ed looking for that quote. I will be holding him to it. Earlier this week I pondered here whether we'll get the usual post-test RNS interview from the Prof. I should have added "or will it be another promising article in the Irish Independent or Examiner" (I actually checked them for articles). It' s all becoming so predictable. I really would love the Professor to directly talk with shareholders (not IIs) and let us know what's really going on. I keep saying that maybe something is going on in the background but until it happens (if ever) I won't believe it. One thing for sure, now that we've suffered a major consolidation, if that turns out to be a precursor for yet another placing I will most likely go ballistic. My investment is not probably lost and was profits from elsewhere anyway but I will not tolerate being made a fool of by anybody. That;'s even worse than the utter contempt us shareholders are held in by the bod.

Hi Lionel, good post too. I'm almost overwhelmed at the honesty of yourself and Tokenpunter. It is so refreshing. I'm going to continue to hope CGNR does get somewhere and I look forward to being able to make a genuinely positive post.

Hi Tokenpunter. That's a very good, balanced post in my view. I think you may well have the patience of a saint as you are very understanding of the bod's situation. I spent many an hour here defending the Prof from incorrect and occasionally outrageous comments in the past. Like you, I have also repeatedly stated that I believe CGNR have the product and I have maintained that things should happen by Q42016/Q12017. Unlike you I'm a bit older and my investment here is not that important to me (I'm not loaded or anything - I invested half of a really lucky, large profit on a company from another market). My problem is two-fold. Firstly, it's all very well the majority of us acknowledging how badly OUR company's bod have treated us but it remains a real bugbear for me. In fact it's an absolute disgrace. If I invested £100, £1,000 or £10,000 I'd feel the same way. The fact that there is an unwillingness for anyone to try to even think of something we could do about it is disappointing. The contempt I was treated with when the bod finally got back to me (because of my persistence - emails unreplied to followed by fob-off phone calls) until I finally received a curt reply telling me any information will be issued by RNS, was outrageous. I just hope they treat potential JV companies or buy-out companies better than they treat their part-owners - I really do. Secondly, my (very generous) time-frame looks now like it won't be achieved. Continuous testing occasionally followed by identical interviews with the Prof is simply not acceptable after over a decade of same. For once I'd love an RNS that wasn't a test result. (BTW, with regards to the bod's holdings - they have received a very decent wage for about 13 years now but that's another argument.) I do think it's a good time for a new investor (big or small) to come in but I have no problem advising them that it is a risk. My holding is down over 80% (it keeps changing between 80 and 93% down) so there really is no point in me selling now. As I've said before maybe the bod are negotiating something in the background and maybe they'll surprise me by coming in within my time-frame. Who knows? Thanks again for the post.
