Approval should be this week but will the sp continue to rise or fall on the old maxim of 'buy the rumour; sell the news'?
I am poised over the sell button for my trading pot but will still hang on to my core holding and hope we stay well above £10 from now on

Guardian article says approval on 28th. Inside knowledge/inspired guess/punt who knows?
Pity we couldn't hold the last rise but anyone in OXB for a while will not find that surprising.

It's the cheapest and easiest to distribute so there will be pressure to approve but after the farce of the Pfizer announcement when world beating UK turned the tide on the virus by being the first to approve it maybe they will be a little more cautious this time especially as the trial results were not straightforward - hence the delay in the US. Does anyone know how the European regulator is looking at it?

I will watch on catch up but the story on the BBC website didn't mention OXB as such and said that mass manufacturing had been transferred to India so we won't get much out of that if anyone reads it.
I still think we won't get a big (ish) boost until the US FDA approves it and as AZ is struggling to recruit the 30,000 it needs for a US trial as it accepts the FDA will not act on the published one, that will be a while yet. IMHOO of course.
We live in hope both for the efficacy of the vaccine and a boost to OXB

At least the AZ fall is because of its takeover of another biotech company and not because of its vaccine though there still hasn't been approval anywhere as far as I can see. Hopefully just a matter of time but we have been saying that about OXB for many years now.

Very sorry to hear that. It doesn't get any easier. A tune or tv programme or something still triggers. Her birthday was Christmas eve so this time of year is bitter sweet for the three of us (and her immediate family of course) and we cant be together this year because of this wretched covid. I never found another - didn't really look to be honest.

Hang in there. Despite what they say time is not a great healer but it does allow you to deal with it. I lost my wife 14 years ago now much too young to cancer leaving me with two very young boys to bring up and our shared business to run. After all this time not a day goes by that I don't think of her but I predominantly remember the good times now. I railed against the world when it happened but life goes on and I realised that other people had pain their lives as well. You will find out who your true friends are that's for sure. Always remember the world is a better place with you in it.

I think the word you are looking for is "parent" rather than sucker. We all do what we can for them in these very difficult times.
Good OXB is edging up but windfall may have to wait a bit methinks.

The FDA is unlikely to approve for use in the USA on these results alone as the 90% was for younger people with limited ethnic variation. I think I read that a separate trial is being undertaken in the US to accommodate older and broader ethnic categories.
Until those results are in nothing will happen across the pond and I wonder how many other countries take their regulatory lead from them rather than us. I guess we will approve as otherwise it will all have been a monumental waste of time and money.
What all that will do to the sp is anyone's guess but today's rise is welcome.

Reluctantly given my recent purchase I have to agree with you though given OXB is invisible in the AZ/Oxford discussion it might not all be baked into the current sp. My feeling is that it will bounce around between £8 and £9 until, as you say, it becomes a profitable manufacturer or one of the other compounds comes good. I just hope that isn't another 17 years as I doubt I will live that long!

I guess this fall is because of Pfizer beating them to market. Seems completely irrational as it will be approved soon for mass distribution because of logistics and cost.
I also guess that after 17 years I should not be surprised about OXBs sp behaviour. Got this one entirely wrong as I bought more on the back of the covid arrangement when of course I should have sold. Buy the rumour; sell the news! IMHO only of course

I am as excited about this as anyone on here and with a0.2 average am already feeling good but I cannot get my head around this talk of it being worth 30 times normal gold. That implies with gold at say $2k that someone would pay $60k for this. Perhaps I am naïve but I find this very hard to believe and that Alba would value any finds that high.
