"and the share price can continue its upward progress..." Does the share price of a company with a majority shareholder behave any differently to a company more widely owned? Would having a majority shareholder discourage other investors and consequently hold the share price back? Not saying it would, just asking the question.

Good news from Cavendish. Not sure how many other institutional investors have declared their intentions but I'm sure there are others. As for the management the only thing they can do now to try to retrieve their credibility is come clean, admit they made a "mistake" and persuade Delek to up their offer. I'm very optimistic that a higher offer will surface, from some source or other and will be holding on till the very end.

I've emailed the company expressing my disgust with the offer and particularly the Board's acceptance of it. There should be no misunderstanding on their part as to how I shall be voting.

I agree that even £1.50 would be cheap but there would be enough takers I'm sure at that price so there's no point in expecting any more. If Delek hadn't bid and we'd reached £1.50 I wouldn't have been selling but they have so that changes things.

I agree with everything you've said there Roth1. I suppose it's fair enough to sell up if you're confident of a better return over the next couple of months but I'm confident of getting much closer to £1.50 for Ithaca before this deal concludes.

I think it was on KIBO's board they managed to construct a single message with a list of holdings that could be added to by posters but I have no idea how it was done

If that's in response to Rollonsummer's request, I've got 25000 (I'm just a poor pensioner!) which I won't let go of for less than £1.50 if I can help it.

I would take that to mean if the offer were accepted and then the company backed out. Until the offer is accepted by shareholders there is no "agreement" which can be terminated.

This could well get very complicated and, for the Ithaca Board, very messy. As has been said oil price/US$ movements could wipe out the premium, and the market knows there's good news to come re increased production. If that news is released how can it not boost the SP? If it isn't released there'll be an almighty pong rising from the deal. It would be better from everyone's point of view if this offer was quickly replaced by a "proper" one!

"You never accept the first offer ......". If for no other reason, this offer should have been turned down, unless it was obviously very generous, which it isn't. And the same reason is exactly why the offer WILL be rejected-there will be enough shareholders who will be wondering why on earth has the Board done what they've done. Very suspicious!!

A few more comments like this one from a significant institutional holder will leave the offer dead in the water.

How have they worked that out?

We need some really bad negative comment on the offer and the Board's acceptance of it in the financial press to force an improved offer from Delek, if only to protect their chums on the Board!!

I have no idea how viable a class action might be but I'd certainly chip in with my 2 pen'th

Nothing to lose by holding on in the hope of a better offer, unless you're confident of making the money work harder somewhere else AND no improved offer here. I'm holding , but who knows?

Just logged in. When I saw the price I thought there'd been a positive announcement re the junction boxes and start up. It never occurred to me that an offer had been made-the gain just wasn't enough. I shall not be selling but will be hoping for a rival bidder, although don't know how likely that is. In any event it's a win-no lose situation. Either it goes through and I've more than doubled my money or £1.20 is just the opening shot with more to come.. Disappointed at this stage tho', I have to say.

I'll be happy with it any time this year!
