Such a clever response :-)...so given you are that clever, could you tell us all on here who should take over if Colin was voted out?...if you think John Buggenhagen is the answer, do some research on him. I have tried to look at his track record but cannot find anything but mystery. Why did he leave Palomar Natural Resources when they appear to have struck a lucrative deal with the Polish state but I cannot see how that has worked. PNR was founded by JB with a partner who seems to have disappeared. PNG bought the Polish gas licences from San Leon a company that JB worked for. I can see he is qualified but at the moment, I do not have trust in JB because he seems to be a bit of a shadowy figure in the industry. I accept that I haven't dug deeper due to my own time limitations. I wonder if anyone can shed light on JB's performance and history in this industry as he seems to be a bit of a nomad (no pun intended). The point I am trying to make is "better the devil you know....). I would also repeat a previous observation made that any CEO would struggle with the Slovenian government agencies...also where would you find a qualified person that would work for buttons or accept payment in shares...that's not going to happen. I would urge caution and patience....be a smart investor and take the emotion out of it!

Duster, your fury, anger and grief at your loss is almost too hard for me to bear. Why are you here, you must be invested at huge loss because of the nature of your personal insults which are bordering on childish cowardice. It's brave of you to insult people from the anonymity of this BB. I note you have some support like the other cowardly and furious losers (misiekm, new_2, Hulie, etc.) You all remind me of the saying... it's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are a fool than to open it and prove to people you are !!.. if you were smart, you would trade this stock like intelligent investors rather than lumping in like idiots trying to make a quick kill. Investing (gambling) rarely works like that on AIM..while part of me feels pity for you and your kind, mostly I cannot help laughing at your stupidity. You are losers and wannabe winners but you will never win, you have the wrong perspective on investing and a piss poor attitude. Take your losses and grow a backbone, show some respect for yourself and for us more mature investors by using the name Colin rather than your childish play on his name...you don't have to like him but you need to like yourself better!

Gerry65, I understand and appreciate your comments. I believe that if something does come to pass (permits perhaps) and there is a breakout and as a result the SP moves significantly, then many PI's will hold on the perceived value from either field development or a takeover rather than just break even. Human nature will prevail!!

Because you all believed you would make money..we all did, that's why we took the gamble. Most of us are sitting on paper losses but to keep knocking the company and the BoD is not helping. I admit I am an optimist but I did my research before investing and some of the fundamentals have not changed e.g. Debt free (albeit a diluted share price), a valuable asset (possibly underrated if JB is to be believed), and Permits have not been declined at this point (this is where the potential for profit is). The current make up of the Board seems balanced to me but any BoD would struggle with the behaviour of the Slovenians (specifically ARSO and the former minister). Continual whinging and bleating from the traditional cry babies is tiresome and not productive. Threats to remove members of the board through an EGM or at the AGM will fail as I sense there are some serious PI's who understand that it is not the Ascent personnel who are holding the SP back. The bleaters should try and find some courage to go along with the patience needed with this share.

So why leave Palomar for Ascent?... Since posting the above, I have struggled to find anything on Palomar Natural Resources where John was joint founder. I am not questioning his credentials but would like to understand his track record. I hope, as an LTH, that he is the real deal and not a "Trojan Horse" as it seems the future of AST is somewhat dependent on John as the COO for AST.

Seeing as you are strongly urging investors to sell, I can only assume that you have sold up yourself. Therefore if you are disinvested in AST, why are you continuing to spout your repetitive and nasty diatribe, hurling insults and generally demonstrating that you are an incredibly sore loser and a big time loser at that! It's not mm's it is algorithms that control the buy/ sell plays. It is unbelievable that some on this bb are pretending to be knowledgable!!! If you had any substantive knowledge then the market would respond. Until ARSO make a move nothing will happen. Just be patient and await developments and ffs stop the bleating and guessing. Damn! I was doing pretty good with my political correctness until the end of my previous when I clearly said him and his..so yes I think he is a guy!!!...a very angry guy!!

Duster joined this BB in July 2014 so he/she has probably in at at 1p + and possibly continued to add up to 2p+ (Guesswork on my part) but he/she is clearly destabilised by his/her loss to date. Guessing again but from his/her ranting and raving he/she probably spent what he/she could not afford. AIM investing is pure gambling so it needs courage and prudence in equal measure. I don't think Duster is a Russian puppet (I see conspiracy theorists do!). He is just a bitter and twisted ?iss ?oor gambler who behaves like a toddler who has just had his lollipop taken off him.
My gamble on hold or fold for this stock will be to hold...but it is a gamble.

Reso, please tell me that based on your opinion, you have sold up any interest you may have had in AST and will have no reason to continue contributing to this BB.....nah!...we couldn't be that lucky....could we?

New2LSE, 5% support for an EGM!...doesn't that tell you something....it tells me the large majority are not interested in an EGM...the calls for EGM seem to be based on a personal dislike of CH, fuelled by raw anger and emotion. There doesn't seem to be any plausible alternative strategy proposed by the few people calling for an EGM, or any candidates offered up for CEO, unless you have a plan that you haven't shared with the rest of us!
I agree with the previous poster that we need more balance to some of the one sided views we are getting on here lately.

We are all at the gaming tables with AIM..all bets are speculative but we put our chips down feeling that we are informed.
I came away from the last meeting with that feeling. It was based on information that, if true, gave me the belief that AST is not a "dead duck"
We have little or no debt but limited funding.
A defined strategy for taking the company forward (going after shallow reserves and looking at possible opportunities outside of Slovenia).
Newly hired O&G expertise.
A valuable asset (Oil & Gas volumes for extraction).
I think these are reasons to be positive but admit that I am an optimist by nature and a compulsive gambler....in my view I think this company will come good ...eventually!!!!...on that basis, I have recently purchased to average down from 2.25p to 1.13p.

possibilty. It was not stated that Vendor finance was available.
I was at the meeting and agree with most that it was, in general a positive outlook but dependent on many things working out with the proposed strategy.
However, we now have a coherent strategy, it just needs to be delivered.
I just wish that those at the meeting who like the sound of their own voices would stop bleating about the past issues and move on with more positive comment....they are sooo boring!

Does anyone know if we start legal proceedings, should we start them before we leave the EU, or can we still start those proceedings once the UK is out?

I wonder if the new board members are current shareholders or if they will be investing in the company in any significant way? I also wonder what remuneration packages they are on. I wonder also what benefit appointing board members now has when the company appears to be on survival rations until we get those elusive permits....something is a little off kilter here, so we must assume some news will break soon...we'll that's what I am wondering!!!!
