Angry, bitter, accusatory, disgruntled and naive punters here on this BB.....Yes we are losing on this share but posts saying that the BoD should not be taking a salary whether you believe they are ineffective or not is naive...if any company does not pay their employees it will shutdown...and then we would lose everything. LC81, Although public companies must disclose the number of shares their officers, directors, and major shareholders hold, private companies have no obligation to release these ownership details. ... Publicly disclosed financial statements are required only when stock is sold to the general public.
As PNR are a private company they are difficult to research but JB worked for San Leon who sold their licences to Palomar who then won contracts from the Polish Government to supply gas. JB was co-founder of Palomar after working for San Leon. I can't help wondering why JB would leave a company that appears to be doing well for a job with AST...I have made this point before on this BB but felt it worth repeating as I think there are still "live" connections at play here!

IMO it’s the “expectation of it’s performance” that is slightly unclear inasmuch as if AST is going to be subject to takeover e.g. price sensitivity!!... I think it’s ambiguous at best but no grounds for the accusation that the BoD is withholding information.

Reso, I have made some recovery bets on the spread over the last few months but nowhere near recovering my original investment....not whinging because I did my research at the time but what was not clear at the time of my original investment was the absolute intransigence of the Slovenian government and some of their employees which only became clear over the the last 12 - 18 months when they capitulated ... rightly or wrongly... to the environmental protection groups in Slovenia.... no amount of research could have uncovered that, or their impact on AST, at that time...I accept that the AST BoD might have managed it better but what irritates is the fkn know nothings on this BB who think they could have foreseen everything and blame everyone except themselves for what has happened!!!! ... it's AIM gambling and we may have lost... but it's only the attraction of big returns that attracted us to this share... there was never an automatic right to profits...something may happen in terms of permits or takeover...who knows... but ffs all of you cry babies STFU...and move on!!

If you get support for this Brockster, I would be surprised. I have attended all AGM's since investing here and have never seen more than 12 people attending. I believe most small PI's are invested here through nominee accounts in self invested ISA's and probably do not participate on these Bulletin boards. If the plan is to attempt to convene an EGM just to whinge at the board and demand answers to questions that have already been answered, repeatedly, over the last couple of years, or because some are impatient for weekly updates then there will be no support for it. However, if you can define a strategy through realistic and achievable objectives that could be proposed at an EGM you might get support. A proposal to remove the BoD will require nominating and voting for alternative personnel.....do you have anyone in mind. I say again, calling for an EGM just to repeat the whinging posted here is of no value ....nobody will spend the bus fare to attend.

New 2... you are a Loser.. and a pathetic whinger.....I doubt you have lost as much as I have on this stock.... but I have lost in the full knowledge that I was gambling on the AIM... you were never entitled to profit.. but it seems you think you were. We all made a bad decision investing here but we invested believing we knew better than most that we would make a healthy profit...I still have a gamblers belief that it may still work out but I won't cry about it. Others on here looking to raise an EGM need to understand more about company ownership.. collectively, they may own a pathetic couple of hundred million shares ...I have been at every meeting for the last 3 years and know that maybe 10-12 investors turn up.... you need to get the Kleenex out, dry your eyes and stick or bust....if not then for ffs stop bleating and move on!...Most PI's invested here are in nominee accounts so you won't get the interest in a shareholder revolt.....but by all means, those of you advocating shareholder legal action go ahead ......if you can raise the money......fu**wits!!

Alwaysup, you make a good point. Any improvement in revenue would be needed to keep AST as a going concern.

Alwaysup, I too have worked in the industry on and offshore for nearly 40 years before retiring. Northern, Central and Southern North Sea, North Africa, Saudi and other Gulf regions, South America, Sahklin and Alaska. I have invested well off the back of knowledge gained. I fully agree that positive operational updates lift a companies share price.....However, it needs to be significant!... recovering shallow reserves would be good news but it would have to be large volumes. With AST I believe stimulation permits are the only way to get the SP moving significantly North......and that is what I have gambled on here....I have topped up in recent months to dilute my original unit price down to well below 1p...but that means still a long way to go to profit. AST need to focus on getting permits and will need at some point, to submit an EIA...which has always been a requirement for all O&G companies globally to satisfy "E" regulations which do not vary much no matter where in this world you are operating!!

Obone, your earlier post suggests you want a face to face meeting to improve communication but you have also stated that you didn't attend the AGM's because as you say "I am not in London"....seems it's your way or no way!... I have been an active PI for over 30 years and occasionally dip my toe in the AIM market...as I have done with AST...I do it with a full understanding that I may lose my investment. In this particular case, I believe the Asset has value and a way to realise that value needs to be found..I am not that wise or clever to identify the solution but I do not believe any company puts out the level of detail you seem to need other than in their Annual and interim reports. Only time will tell if we have the right BOD in place but continual sniping and harassment will not change anything...nor will your proposed Action Group....how's that going by the way?

Action group my arse!...I guess you will be submitting expenses forms for payment for visits to London or Slovenia dinner lunch and travel..you'd be as avaricious as the previous BOD.
No company gives updates as often as some seem to be demanding here.
We have been updated, we know the current circumstance of permits (which is the key to unlocking the value of AST) Croatia is for the future, if there is one!
Stick these in the bottom drawer and be patient or sell up and take the loss...AST will not be turned around in weeks or even months unless the permit issue is resolved. The court case is a pig in a poke and I agree with Stockdale that we will get nothing out of the Slovenian govt. Prima Donnas here demanding updates all the time are a bit tedious for me... Action Group huh! Can't get shareholders to attend the meetings..I have been to all of them in the last few years and no more than 10 or 12 shareholders attend.....Good luck with that!!!

Jester, I think you are suggesting that Shareholders undertake legal action against the Slovenian authorities...you do realise that perhaps about 12 Shareholders attend the AGM and about a similar number of Posters who contribute to this BB (seems like more because of the repetitive nature of their posts) are interested in the detail of AST. How would you fund this action...Good Luck with that...we are all irritated with this share and most of us are down on paper!..was it you that tried to lead a revolt against the board sometime ago..where did that go?...nobody is interested...serious investors do not brood and look for vengeful action they decide to hold or they bail out and move on.....we are gamblers and as such we believe we can win every time but that just ain't the case.

Tango, I posed the question a couple of times some months ago on this BB, based on the same research you have undertaken. I also asked CH if JB had retained an interest in Palomar....it’s all a bit murky but I am not sure if we should be concerned as I would welcome a bid from Palomar provided they are not attempting to “steal” at a giveaway price given JB has stated that AST is a value asset. If that happens, then I think the AIM authorities should be alerted to what I believe would be obvious shenanigans!!

Ping, if you look back at my posts, you will recognise that I have questioned JB’s suitability and motives. I don’t doubt his qualifications but have several times made the point that he left a successful company of which he was co-founder (Palomar) to join AST as COO before very quickly becoming CEO and I have wondered why!....So no fan club member here!.. I am a gambler so, by definition, I am optimistic but I am also a realist. AST is a in a tenuous position but if JB is given time and a slice of overdue luck, there is a chance, in my view, that this share could recover and reward patience. As an LTH I expect that when you bail out you will take a loss and maybe saving something from your investment is the prudent thing to do. I genuinely wish you luck with your future investing. For myself, I am riding this to the end for better or worse!! Exciting isn’t it :-)

Pinguser5......Off you go then pal!...Cannot believe your naivety in saying shareholders own the company.. it's true but they don't manage the company!.. if you want to "manage" the company buy enough shares to have influence. You are one of many shareholders with a small holding. You do understand that there are billions of shares issued...please tell me you understand that because shareholder rebellions only happen if supported by majority shareholders. Also, very generous of you to give JB a few weeks to make a difference...... to move governments and develop drilling programmes will take significantly longer. AST is a "stressed" share, no overnight fixes... only patience might pay off but no guarantees... it could easily go tits up!!! So only for the brave and reckless gamblers, because with this share we are all gamblers!!
