It was made clear by the auditors that the “management” were allowed to make their own estimate of reserves in Petosovci, they do not estimate the cost of recovering those reserves which appear to be “tight” gas or they would not need stimulation / fracking.
In addition, they have not shared the results of the “review” of the seismic survey undertaken by the former CEO John Buggenhagen.
I smell a rat and have done for some time!
I believe the reluctance to undertake the EIA is connected to an unviable development.
The current management have ducked all questions associated with the above and I suspect a lack of integrity is embedded in this bunch of do nothings.
Funding will be attempted but it will be to keep the company afloat as source of income for the BoD but only for a period of time before it liquidates!

I will submit a question on the Auditor's report, in the annual report, based on their assessment that there are "material concerns" about the ongoing existence of Ascent in relation to their ability to raise funds, the requirement for which is made clear in the company's annual report.
If, at the meeting, they do not accept that it is a risk then, for me, that would be a clear warning sign!
The following is an extract from their report that investors should sit up and take notice of!!

"Carrying Value of Exploration Assets (Note 11)
The group has intangible assets in relation to capitalised exploration costs of its Slovenian amounting to £18.7m. There is the risk that these assets have
been incorrectly capitalized in accordance with IFRS
6 and that there are indicators of impairment as at 31 December 2020.
Particularly for early stage exploration projects where the calculation of recoverable amount via value in use calculations is not possible, management’s assessment of impairment under IFRS 6 requires estimation and judgement. For this reason along with the nancial signi cance of the account balance, we have assessed this to be a key audit matter."

JCB, with you all the way!.. got in here in a big way in mid 2009, selling share options gained in the company I worked for... options bought at 55p and sold at close to £12... not complaining either at the dividends I captured before suspension... I cannot stop smiling with this stock ... and the only way is up .....IM not very HO! :-) Yeehaw!!!

I wonder what percentage of the claim has been given up!
Don't be surprised if the agreement is terminated on or before the "the completion of definitive documentation"...watch this for a pump and dump!!!

Scouse et al, I had, of course heard the word "Troll" but never really understood it....so I looked it up and it would appear that I am a Troll of sorts!
My posts on C7's input are based on my negative opinion around her/him monopolising this board not only with the running commentary on the SP which, most of us, as investors monitor anyway but also with her/him sharing personal detail on his/her health issues.
I am sure that most of us have either personally endured, or have close family members managing health problems. However, nobody I know would broadcast to relative strangers such detail in what appears to me to be an attempt to elicit sympathetic comment!...That can be seen as unsympathetic but it is genuinely how I feel. I wish C7 well and hope things work out but perhaps she/he could save that stuff for her/his friends.
While my posts are seen by some as provocative, they are not meant to be, I don't believe they are vile and note that my recently deleted had many "likes" so perhaps there are those on here that feel the same as me.

Hulie, at 1030hrs yesterday, you stated that you were “buying in at the mo”.. I checked the trades on two sites and the only buy was paltry at £200 for 3,600 shares. I am not deramping but you are definitely caught red handed ramping. Either that or the truth is a stranger to you!….genuine investors beware this poster!

Hulie, I smell a rat..you are blagging, no significant buys in the last two days!.. most trades in the last 10 trading days are sells...which in itself is a strong indicator that you are ramping!
Any potential investor reading this BB...ffs do some quality research!Check out the BoD members history and performance look at the detail of the currently non existent litigation against the Slovenian government and look at the Cuban pipe dream in the light of geopolitical circumstances. Try and see if you can get the results of the Petosovci seismic survey review which has never been made available although we funded the salary of the last CEO who was undertaking that review (John Buggenhagen). Too many of us have lost a lot of money here...don't be the next mug punter.

LL, my wife is a Nurse, she and a lot of her colleagues do not feel poorly paid. She earns £30k+ a year without overtime as a band 5. Of course she and her colleagues would like more and maybe student Nurses could be better paid. The pay bandings for Nurses on band 6 and higher can rise to £36k-£50k+ a year. It's all there in the open if you want to check, no need to take my word for it.
For what it's worth, I think they should be paid more, they work hard to achieve and maintain their qualifications and have been exposed to greater risk. My wife caught Covid but returned to work after three weeks, is suffering "mild" long covid symptoms, mostly fatigue and is my hero!

I agree with Bobbust if it was an official release of info, it should be an RNS, as it could be considered significant news potentially with material impact on the SP but was it a press release e.g. as in a formal interview with the journalist or just a guess by the journalist from a "conversation"?...Should we believe everything we read in the papers?

Conrad, I sleep very well, thanks for asking!.. I was in this share for years until recently. At one time, before consolidation I held 5 million. I still have some in my Wife's ISA which we can afford to lose but consider them lost but you never know. However, it is an outside chance that this company will survive. Look at the evidence I have previously posted. I am not deramping and do not trade in this stock. I and many others have lost a lot of money here and my sole intent is to warn potential PI's to do some serious research and look past the smoke and mirrors before risking investment as it would be a massive risk to take. I assume that you are heavily invested and perhaps a LTH. I wish you no financial harm and all the luck in the world. BTW, I recognise it is my opinion and as such can be ignored.

I believe that MM's are using algorithm trading to manipulate this stock to benefit from shorting in the near to medium term before it's demise!
I know I am repeating this but remember the auditor's comment in the last paragraph of the Chairman's statement!
"Based on historical and recent support from new and existing investors the Board believes that such funding, if and when required, could be obtained through new debt or equity issuances. However, the ability to raise these funds is not guaranteed at the date of signing these financial statements. As a consequence, the auditors have specified a material uncertainty related to going concern."
You don't have to believe me as I am only guessing but it's the PI's who will feel the pain not the under invested BoD or indeed the MM's.

Covid not Covidity

AJamesW, it's so easy for you to play the blame game now you have the hindsight!.. Covidity was new to the whole world. A strategy to manage it had to evolve at the same rate as the knowledge around it grew.
The UK recognised a pathway out was through vaccination and the Govt got ahead of the game in ordering Vaccines way ahead of other countries....Look forward not back!... you'll be happier but I suspect you are not one to take advice from anyone.

Immediately after, possibly during the news item, the SP dropped briefly from 23.53p to 22p but it was momentarily. To be clear, it was an observation that I linked with the news. I have no way of knowing if it was related or just a coincidental move.
