Washers, how do you know it does not refer to existing projects? Do you know for sure or is it that you want to believe it to be so.
Thar is hardly an existing project is it…I mean has a brick been laid yet?

It seems that the RNS today is somewhat at odds with China’s new policy!
I imagine Chinese funding for Thar might not be forthcoming!

Just realised (after googling) it was a statement made a few days ago!

“ In a move designed to bolster Beijing's climate credentials, President Xi Jinping of China said last week that his country would stop building coal-burning power plants overseas, ending its support for construction projects that rely on the world's dirtiest fossil fuel.
"China will step up support for other developing countries in developing green and low carbon energy and will not build new coal-fired power projects abroad," Xi said in prerecorded remarks to the U.N. General Assembly”.

Just heard on CNBC that China will no longer fund any international coal energy projects from the end of the year!
Jeez just when I topped up last week!

Naive opinion too often expressed on this board.

As a gambler I have bought beaucoup shares this week and will divest at a profit in the next couple of weeks.
I will reshuffle here every few weeks on 10-20% …best trading share I feel for some time..probably due to director buys and news due…..I could be wrong but love a short term punt…..risky but potentially lucrative on the right trading strategy….not for the faint hearted but then when has AIM ever been?

AB, not sure I agree with your first statement, following the rise in Feb it has fluctuated in a tight range, such that trading within the spread would be pure gambling without much room for profit.
I guess some may have made a little but looking at the size of the majority of trades from feb to date, I doubt many would have collected a retirement fund.
Buy and hold is the right strategy in my opinion ( for what it’s worth) but even that view is based on what I feel is generally held optimistic view that one or more of the platforms will come through.
I see little or no negative comment on this board but there are a couple of reasons why an “insurance” strategy should be considered e.g. failure of one or more trials, for whatever reason and failure of the company to effectively monetise.
Let me state that I am optimistic but have been burned in the past when I thought “this cannot fail”.

Bermuda, thanks for the link!…a tad disappointing that of today’s date it indicates that they are not yet recruiting :-(
It has been a while since approval to undertake trials, maybe the timeline is normal but to me it seems slow. My hope is that the comms between SA and the US are poor and the US site is yet to be updated but maybe that is wishful thinking.
I guess more patience is the game here but the trial completion date of June 22nd seems a long way away and doesn’t feel like the acceleration that Pfizer and others seemed to have had!

The placing was in 2919…where has the money gone?

Oops! Hydraulic stimulation …not separation!!

Alwaysup, I tend to agree with your last point, I would guess that Ascent (UK) will not be part of any licence extension. However, due to the tight gas I would also guess that compression might not be enough without stimulation whether you call it Fracking or Hydraulic Separation and I also believe Slovenia will make the case, based on Environmental concerns, not to support any “fracking” type activities….I could be wrong though!…and for all those still holding, I hope I am.

Alwaysup, we may have met at some point..North Sea (Northern, Central & Southern) North Africa, (Libya, Egypt & Algeria) Africa (Nigeria & Gabon), South America (Brazil & Venezuela), China, khazakstan, Azerbaijan and other places. Offshore and onshore on production platforms (Oil & Gas), Drillers & Hookups. I know it doesn’t make us investment experts but I guess we have seen any number of small exploration companies going under and possibly recognise the symptoms!!

Administrative expenses fall 13% to GBP826,000 from GBP945,000. COMPANY DOES NOT POST REVENUE. "The team continue to work diligently across our key corporate priorities which include funding the Slovenia ECT claim and delivering a maiden ESG metals transaction," says company.”

Conrad, oldblue’s post at 14.56 is typically “unbalanced” and perhaps would influence an unwary or novice investor. This is why I post!
Oldblue has selectively extracted sections of the Interim results. I would urge anyone thinking of investing to read the whole document. It will be clear to anyone that Ascent are not receiving any money from production in Slovenia. The wells are not producing enough for INA to accept and so what is being produced is being sold locally to pay the local operator..and if you look at the production figures in the report you will see the dramatic decline in production since 2019.
It’s all there in black and white..just take the time to read and accurately interpret the (unaudited) results.
