A bright future for lithium production:

The news about solid state batteries is coming thick and fast, Toyota, VW and Hyundai are presenting high-performance LFP batteries for their future car models. GM and Porsche will soon announce a Lithium-Silicon Battery.

A solid-state cell with a lithium-metal anode will likely require a higher lithium material intensity (kg/kWh) than traditional Li-ion cells, despite the higher energy density of solid-state cells. However, it is important to note that lithium material intensity (kg/kWh) does not decrease proportionally with increased energy density (Wh/kg). It relies on many factors including overall lithium content, cell design and electrolyte conductivity.

Solid-state batteries are said to enable a considerably higher energy density, significantly faster charging times and lower battery weights.

Good news for PREM - Toyota solid state battery development

Something is happening with solid-state batteries for electric cars: Toyota recently presented a battery with a range of 1,200 kilometers and a charging time of ten minutes. Series production could start as early as 2027 or 2028.

It is true that everything is meaningless as long as PREM does not produce SC6. It is also true that the "shared deal" was not initially commented on with great joy by PREM investors. PREM and Canmax the parties have agreed to a revised hybrid pricing agreement with the payment for Spodumene (SC6) supplied by Premier based on the SC6 price and a profit share whereby Premier and Canmax will share in the profit from production by Canmax of lithium hydroxide from SC6 supplied by Premier. The show will go on whatever the lithium price is.

Nhjj The question is, what kind of lithium? We have all learned that not all lithium is the same and therefore general price indications are useless for thinking about further measures as long as they do not contain any quality characteristics.
