I have no idea if it ultimately will be mild, more transmissable or a mare , nor do the scientists at the moment they have all said approx two weeks.

I didn't say it didnt make sense , the reason I don't like seeing it in print from Jenny Harries is that it spells out the seriousness of the current situation if that is being considered. That simple.

Over reacting is useless too. I dislike the banning of S.A flights yet not testing the last few plane loads of people who arrived in the UK. We know now we cannot contain cross border spread and our best weapons against the virus and any future variants are vaccines ( which will need constantly updating) and testing which also may well need constant changes.
This focus on PCR versus LFT is bloody irritating. Ffs sort out the pricing , subsidise the PCR tests if neccessary ( airlines)
PCR for border control , in hospitals , care homes , positive LFTs and those with symptoms. In the interim regular LFT testing with a quality product for asymptomatic people, with focus on schools and universities as a starting point. Again just IMO.

Umm , draw your own conclusions but they are very very worried imo.

CoVidopp they dropped the price today to cause panic in less experienced investors I know it , you know it and prior to the new virus a group of traders caused it to rise , they slapped some shorts on sold out alongside those taking profits and we start again. This time against a backdrop of PCR being more in demand then it has ever been. Every country running scared ,hence border shut downs and us all been offered more boosters then we know what to do with. People can say milder , we know vaccine efficacy may be impacted hence the booster party and we know more transmissable hence more hospitalisations and the potential of the NHS being overwhelmed. That's all we know. For holders of covid stocks it's the perfect storm from an investment perspective. Imo

That wasn't my take on it at all Ventura. The demographics of those catching it are very different to Europe / States , they are much younger. They said clearly they know it is more transmissable and that leads to more hospitalisations and deaths. Regarding severity of symptoms they do not know yet hence the mass vaccination drive AGAIN :(:( I do agree with whoever posted earlier that there is a fine tightrope with vaccinations. Certain groups in society will be enough is enough . We were told ideal time for a booster is six months , then as Delta increased 5 months , now 3 months. Give us a bottle we'll suck on it.
I thought Van Tam both looked and sounded concerned. They also made it clear they don't know if vaccines are effective against it. That was my take , I detected unease as they had not yet got enough information to identify key areas of concern , therefore solution MORE vaccines as they could get us ahead of the wave was I think the phrase used.
