Took Saints advice and after a quick attempt at a run ( storm ) took a look at some of the open jobs at Novacyt. Didn't get very far , this is the first one I came across :

So the drive to implement the decentralised testing strategy has started. Wonder which of the existing 650 tests will be selected to provide the backbone of this. Have been informed by people with technical knowledge that to move a test from Ruo is not complex. Wonder how are they are changing these tests , certainly to be used on our inhouse manufactured kit , but what else do we expect to see ?

Ravenox the SP a reflection of market value - that can be viewed in several ways.
Perhaps if the company issued an Rns saying that its assays could pick up every variant instead of twitter and numerous other pieces of information then the 'market' would value Novacyt differently . I don't need hand holding but certainly a little trumpet blowing would have a dramatic impact imo.
It is not the midcap it aspires to be and one has to hope it does a much better job at selling itself to its customers then it does to shareholders be they private or ii's. Just imo.

Tedros A G. Lot of mention flights should not be stopped. Lot of we don't know where it originated. Not heard him say that with any other variant or complain about flights and lockdowns. Infact poor old China at the start. All a trite odd.

I am aware it will fall on deliberately deaf ears, but in case ( no disrespect intended ) certain holders / readers of the board were not aware of what one of the primary issues is , I was attempting to spell it out . Like many I am an avid reader of all available literature and research to the best of my ability wherever I invest. Makes holding longterm easy for me.

P100 I hope it is mild , that however is only one of the issues with Omicron. The main issue is the speed of infection . We cannot cope if millions contract simultaneously. A percentage will require hospitalisation and a percentage of a huge number is a massive issue. The rate of transmission appears to be very fast and there within lies the issue. The NHS or any hospital infrastructure in any country would be overwhelmed if that was to happen. Hence the world taking precautions in various different ways. It is irresponsible to either instill fear or say it's ok it's mild. The backdrop is exhausted NHS staff , already a severe shortage of staff and an ever growing waiting list for every ailment / required surgery you can think of. My understanding is that GPs have basically been told to focus on boosters and stop health checks on patients over 75. I don't personally find that acceptable . I value the life of a 75 year old in the same way as I value the life of a 65 year old. It actually makes me fearful of what decisions may have to be made if the hospitals become overwhelmed. There may have to be decisions that I am glad I am not responsible for having to make.

Expect to see a lot of CTDA approvals in forthcoming days , if not it is a home goal by UK govt, bureaucracy on steroids. Our tests have been validated and are used by labs and academia globally to benchmark new PCR / lamp tests, they are recognised as being truly gold standard. Situation farcical , handcuffing of those who have the products to help. Thankfully only the UK and ROW not adversely impacted.

Mild or not if highly transmissable the NHS will be overwhelmed. Perhaps if we all clap again it will all be ok.

She is a very well respected professor so I doubt she'd post something knowing it to be untrue but the tweet she posted could have been removed as its authenticity was questionable , I don't know.

Island girl I don't fully comprehend that as a large percentage of the S.A's catching it have already had covid. So why would catching this give immunity to any other variant ?

It would now appear that 100 of 120 people at a party in Norway who were all double vaxed have been confirmed as Omicron positive. This is a staggering number.

Steve EXACTLY , so they've covered their derriers without explicitly saying you've all got to isolate if a contact with anyone with a positive PCR. Two different instructions for two different variants and nobody knows what variant they have , bloody marvellous ! Such clarity.

Steve I was picking up on the govt guidelines I just posted that state all contacts of suspected Omicron cases must isolate. What that means is everyone who is a contact of anyone with a positive PCR must isolate, because nobody knows which variant they have BUT the guidance does not say that .

How does anyone know if they are a contact of a suspected Omicron case ? Or has every positive PCR become a suspected OM case. If that's the case we are back to pandemic ( unless many turned of track and trace ) is anyone actually told what Variant they have ?
