Boosters are imperative. All these % of people vaccinated make no sense to me at at all. I read 75 % double vaccinated , 67 % single vacc , 34 % have received booster. Well if 45 % of those double vaccinated had A Z then the true figure of double vaccinated when considering Omicron is substantially lower , obviously 20 % , 30 % of those boosted could be in that cohort, so figure increases again. Then we have the vaccine regardless of type waning, so to me now those numbers mean nothing. Unless I'm looking at this the wrong way we have 34% of folks with a good level of protection and all those who had their 2nd none AZ jab in the last couple of months, which would be mainly younger folks. The vaccine rollout in the UK was fast. That now is an issue against Omicron because of waning vaccines.

Sage are handcuffed by the government and independant Sage can get to hung up on occasions with one particular aspect of the bigger picture. As I wrote weeks ago Jeremy Farrar leaving Sage was very telling.

I don't read the Express / Mail etc. Infact most of the papers are factually incorrect 99.99 % of the time when reporting on covid. A very good follow is Barrat who heads up the genomics at the Sanguer institute.

If there is any place PCR tests should be directed it is carehomes and hospitals to protect the most vunerable. If this virus is so transmissable then prioritise PCR to these areas over fit to fly. It is beyond disgusting. Perhaps by the time we get to virus 6 we too in the UK will have a similar age group to S.A which is mainly under 40. Suggest anyone who can pulls any aged relatives home for the next few months because this potentially has disaster written on the can.

Something has to change here , reliance on those approved CTDA tests for travel whilst such a huge global demand is incompetence YET again. Surely we see more approvals and fast. Zzzzz on the job , perhaps partying to much , are they on Christmas hols already ? Unbelievable that already approved tests cannot be used because of beaurocray - desktop approvals during such high demand .
