I don't know how the appt of a new CEO / dismissal of an old one works , it is not something I have any experience of.
Starbright has just posted it is James Wakefield 's responsibility. I too think it is far fetched that D.A is a plant , but anything is feasible although I think unlikely.
It is all speculation and we need some facts.

All we know is Biosynex are buying and nobody on here knows why exactly. I don't think it's an investment that would have been executed via a third party.

Oh I know BH2 , was very poor indeed ! But pretending he knew nada and the flippant it says he has 'a can do ' approach was imo deliberate. He knew for over 3 months who the new CEO was so he obviuosly wasn't happy although he claimed to be.
Back to my original point , who selected him and who accelerated someone elses ' retirement plans'

JW had ample time to familiarise himself with the incoming CEO's CV. It was not a suprise that had just been dumped on him moments before the AGM , he knew for months.
I would like to establish exactly who has the ability / responsibility for terminating an existing CEO's employ and appointing a new one.
I think ( could be wrong ) that it is the responsibility of the Remuneration Committee. All are non exec and considered independent. They are
Andrew Heath , DR Edwin Snape and Juliet Thompson.
If this is correct the board may well have been upset by the decision and this was reflected in the tense atmosphere at the AGM.
Juliet Thompson also chairs the Audit commitee which is heavily involved in the governance of the co.
I don't think a suitor can place a new CEO somewhere as part of a takeover plot . Just my opinion.
