AN RUO test can be purchased by any organisation , be it the WHO , any public health authority , uni , any lab anywhere around the globe.
The WHO have not yet put out a tender as they did with SARS -Cov-2 .
As an RUO it will be used for surveillance and as the WHO have already said many poorer nations flying blind. It can also be used to support other observations by clinicians should they so choose. I expect temp staff in as phone lines may be buzzing as the sales staff work with established networks to offer it to labs globally.

Thrilled for ABDX holders and sad for those who had to crystallize losses . The DHSC were obviously 'trying it on large' and don't we all know that feeling. This should improve sentiment and imo portrays the DHSC in a poor light AGAIN ! Whist fully comprehending the WHO comments , I was thinking about Monkeypox testing in a different way entirely.
I have read numerous times that this can present in many forms with the clickbait huge lesions all over the body being an extreme case. I have read that Monkepox could have been in the community for longer then initially thought and lots of rashes were not identified as monkeypox . I was envisaging this as a test that would be widely adopted by STD clinics as one to tick off if other more widely spread STD's did not produce a positive result. Thoughts ?

Entirely feasible Exmex , but surely they could have called it whatever they wanted. Thus supporting future branding and had it emblazoned across the box , with the obligatory nod to Microgen on the side, if indeed it is their attention to blend the names going forwards under one brand.

Would love some inf on why Innova kept winning contracts even against the backdrop of issues with the tests ( FDA pulling ) But so far there appears to be no appetite to pursue the Chinese contracts. The reason given will be cost. What price a life eh !

Hi BYP , although Novacyt cannot avail of it with the new Antigen test as not yet CTDA approved, as you are aware , the 2billion tender published by the UKSHA for lateral flow tests and PCR tests( we can partcipate) is surely indicative of the requirement for ongoing testing. I am sure the UK is not unique in this requirement. A small slice of a large pie is all that is required.

Very difficult to know what are distraction techniques with current government at the moment and if this is something that has always happened and the better surveillance due to covid are the reasons for detection.

If in my working life I've had a knock back and something I was proposing was not well received , then the answer is to try again. That entails changing the proposal so that it is acceptable to the target audience. The lack of any indication that they intend doing this and the lack of a business update when many shareholders had carved time out of their busy schedules is imo not proffesional. If this was Wakefields idea of leading from the front then can he please join the back of the queue.
