It does feel like a real low point right now. I remember buying in big in my SIPP around these prices a number of years ago. We've won major contracts and a number of notable strategic partnerships and yet the price is exactly the same as it was in 2015.
I can't bring myself to sell at these prices after all this time and the hope of Director buys keeps me going. At least it always seems darkest before the dawn with SEE in my experience so maybe there is an aviation win around the corner about now..
This is surely the key point with regards to the share price and why it only really ever moves up when IIs buy, generally on no news (e.g FOMO Friday) and week to week RNS's with no monetary value attached have little to no effect on the share price. Even the VW contract win didn't have an impact, maybe IIs knew it was coming and the wider marker for PIs didn't register it as VW weren't named? When we won Ford there were less shares in issues but was there also a smaller percentage owned by IIs at that point?
This is a key point regarding where the SP 'should' be surely. I can't recall the exact extent of the dilution but do any more well informed posters have an opinion on how the increased number of shares translates to our previous high point pre-dilution? I'm not sure if there's an exact science to such calculations.
Do we have any concerns that the escalating bushfire situation in Australia will have any impact on delaying any news etc? Canberra seems to be suffering in terms of air pollution and road closures on the outskirts if not any actual fires yet.
Or am I worrying too much about this and it will be business as usual as an international firm?
Lewbo / Terry - fair enough. Glad to read all of the positive sentiment either way. I’m buying a house in the next three months and may need to dip into my SEE investment, but I’m loathe to do so and miss big news before I can rebuild it after 4 years invested!
Lewbo with absolute respect I think that’s slightly unfair. Conversations with any members of SM at a CMD wouldn’t be viewed by them as private. If there is any information or thoughts on timescales that have been given for decisions that will affect all of our investments then you can share them on this board.
Otherwise we’re left with people that were logistically able to attend knowing a hell of of lot more important information than those that weren’t. Those that regularly moan will likely continue to do so either way..
Thanks Sgreen, that's really useful, appreciate the reply. I wasn't asking with a view to buying / selling, I own a reasonably significant amount of SEE and plan to hold for the long term, just wondered if we were definitely stuck at this level until next month. Cheers.
..my financial ignorance here but could more experienced investors tell me, with the placing going ahead at 3(f%$&ing)p in April, is it very unlikely the SP will rise much beyond that until the placing date has passed, or actually not realistically possible?
I.e. if there was good news with regards to Volvo or other contracts could we expect any positive reflection in the SP? Thanks in advance.
Hi there,
Long(ish) term holder and also reader of this board. Thanks very much to all regular contributors for their insight over the last couple of years.
Can I ask people's views on whether a fund raise / placement will necessarily be a bad thing medium term? We rose pretty well following on from the last one although I appreciate promises were made then.
If there is a placement, what kind of time frame are we looking at from start to finish do we think?
