Thankyou all of you. I feel if i get any of this wrong, I'm stepping into a minefield. Accountant time, me thinks.

As I understand it, I don't have to pay income tax on any profits i may make from my £20,000 investment ISA.
What I'd like to know is, do I have to still tell the HMRC about my income from my investments, so it can been recorded as earnings, so this can be recorded for child maintainance purposes. (child maintainance is set per child against gross income).

It is possible that CF are locked into some long and expensive leases on some of their retail outlets and without heavy footfall, the justification for these premises and the impact on profits would cause problems. So by keeping the app low key for the time being, would help keep these premises profitable.

Just thinking out loud.

Due to covid, I think a lot of companies have had to accelerate certain ideas to accomadate the pandemic, being taken by surprise. So possibly CF have thrown the App out there to try and keep up with competitors. There advertising was not in place to, erm, advertise the App. IMO I think we will have to wait till next year to see any decent movement upwards in the sp.

She's happy to part with her money, where this is concerned. She's liquid. She said she'll give the profit she makes to the grand kids. She did a bit of research on AFC, and was very impressed with what she found out. I just pointed her in the right direction. I lead the horse to H2o, so to speak. (Intended, btw.)

I got my mum to buy AFC yesterday, her first foray into stocks and shares, she's in at 45p ish, for approx 2500 Over the moon, she is. She'll be 75 on Friday. (She's looking at car websites as I type).

A dividend would be nice, but reinvest, reinvest, reinvest.

The customer doesn't care that a card has gone up by 10p, because the customer doesn't know, its not a product that we buy week in week out. We only know that CF is always 'x' % cheaper than Clintons etc.

I thought so as well, but the price keeps falling.

I seem remember in the late 80's there was either a change in stamp duty for married couples or their tax allowance changed, I wasn't a house buyer then so didn't pay much attention, the price of houses shot up as everyone was trying to 'get in' before they lost their allowances, prices fell dramatically after the dead line. Is this going to happen in the second Q of next year. Your thoughts please.
