How come Boris won? Well he was helped in no short measure by Corbin.
His ignoring of Labour die hards in the mining communities, his skewering on anti semitism his none too popular Marxist agenda and getting duffed up by Andrew Neil put him on the cross off ballot paper choice.
When asked in a TV debate about the Royal Family he smugly replied "needs a bit of improvement" That did not sit well with patriotic British people. His self righteous arrogance in full view turned voters off.
The wipe out of Labour in the polls the worst since Magna Carta and all he could summon up was 'disappointing' and I needed a process of reflection...
............Well reflect on the result Jer! Social Media was full of canvassers reports of signs on doors in towns like Ashfield saying 'No Lib Dems here' No labour s**t here, Corbyn is a c**t. In these long forgotten far away towns the voters sent a raspberry to the Islington metropolitan elite who were too busy in chic bistros clinking glasses of Dom Perignon to bother with a bunch of disgruntled poor people 'ooop' North. Big mistake.
On election day the Tory candidate polled 6000 more than the second with Labour trailing in third. The shock waves pole axed Momentum strategists who took their loyalty for granted and paid the price. To rub it in while Corb & McDonnell agonies over the drubbing
Good old Boris never missing a trick, rightly makes his first appearance by returning to the Northern Mining communities to thank them for supporting him, for they backed him to deliver Brexit and invest in their run down neglected towns.
They abandoned their 'in the blood' distrust of the Tories to vote for a future, not to return to the strike ridden, go nowhere of the 70s, not to fall for Labours crackpot economic free for all and the re-nationalisation of energy, mail and the railways.
Northern man is not stupid. Times are a changing. They said enough was enough and those Northern communities abandoned yesterdays politicians like the 'never was' Vince Cable who called Northern folk thick and racist, like the Beast of Bolsover over staying his welcome, they were shown the door. Only red London survived the carnage insulated by the power house economy and employment opportunities denied to many other citizens.
Labour London has a lot of catching up to do for the power has now shifted to the North and not before time.
Evening all.
