What do you think. Bought in to Uncle Mikey today at 16.5 and lets see how they go and happy to see how they grow between now and march.

Have you changed your mind on BIRG when you recommended them as a STRONG SELL at 8.12. Looks like they are about to REPEAT their 30% gain since your strong sell recommendation.Are they now a STRONG BUY at current price ?

Speaking of Boo , do you see them recovering their 10% drop from your WOW comments few weeks ago. Will not embarrass you any further and will not invite any comment on your April 2023 60p SP prediction. As you are aware my money is on Uncle Mikey. Perhaps you are too embarrassed with ALL your past failures to put your head above the parapet. Such is the extent of your past failures that "BOTTLE" alone may not be sufficient to come up with a prediction.

IAG-EJ-BOO = Your perpetual spectacular recomendations becoming Glorious Failures.

BIRG/AIB/KINGSPAN/RYANAIR = Your perpetual doomsday rejections becoming steller successes, unprecedented in their sectors.

How come you are so silent on BIRG - 1 minute you are crowing about BIRG trading at 8.12 and then totally silent when the SP APPRECIATES 30% in following 2 months while your BOO SP DROPS 10% from your WOW figure in a matter of weeks.

HOW can one be SO WRONG with 7 DIFFERENT STOCKS AND ALSO BEING THE UNIQUE WINNER OF 2 FTSE DOGS.

Can well understand how the head can be affected - can lead to hallucinations such as cloud cuckoo land or residing in Hawaii .

Can certainly second DT's comments of uour being "the perfect catalyst of what not to buy. As often posted you and the mkt have the perfect negative correlationship.

If your saucy 1.15B proves correct Birg are big bargain at current price. Depends on what is put aside for impairments.

1.15 should result in full year of 2B PBT plus. 2nd half of 23 PBT =900mill after impairment figure of 245mill which was almost an additional 100mill on H1 figure. 2B for full year results in just 850mill for H2 which should be comfortable even allowing for interest rate reduction of 0.5% (0.25 by 2) to year end. Distributing 680mill gives a div of 68c or 71c with 960m share issue.

Share issue as at 24 June = 1,021,272,239 with 175mill available for buy back to result in less than 1.004b shares at year end. Additional 480m buy back reduces this to less than 960m shares which would warrant a SP of €11 all day long.

H1 24 results to be published on 31 July and inviting predictions on what the PBT figure will be. Are you half full or half empty and maybe last catalyst for sp until final qtr.

My prediction is for 1.05 PBT with the credit impairment provision being the key determinant. H1 23 = 158mill and 403mill for 23 total. I am assuming 200 mill for H1 24 as office sector values down appreciably on prior year and rretail also affected.

Ryanair - currently €16.3 and down 12% off their 5 year high.

We shall take a 9 month window until next march and look forward to securing your viewpoint on which of the above 3 stocks shall display the greatest SP appreciation,%age wise, in that time period.

You must be still in shock seeing your STRONG SELL recommendation, BIRG, growing over 30% from your 8.12 strong sell price within 2 months and your STRONG BUY, Boo, dropping 10%. At least you are consistent.

As posted to Sloopy have my eye on 16 and may yet achieve it - time will tell. I recall you asking the same "bottle" question ,if I ha the bottle to buy Kingspan at 51 , and proceeded to buy them at 49 resulting in ADDITIONAL 2grand profit. Will watch Uncle Mikey closely tomorrow and who knows might fall back close to 16. This opportunity window will not be around for too long.

What is your advise on Ryanair ? Do you think I should keep on the fence hoping they might come back sub 16.50. Have a buy order in at 16 but doubt if I will secure them at that price.

As posted already keep away from the pool and focus on some long distance cycles , in addition to Uncle Mikey.

SP was 8.12 when posting and RECOVERED TO 10.75 in May 2024 in keeping with my year end/1st qtr 24 prediction. Amazing how BIRG recovered by over 32% within 3 months and your favourite Boo has dropped over 11% since your WOW and turnaround comments on 6/4/24 , 2 months ago. So your STRONG SELL was consistent with your consistently wrong predictions YET AGAIN.

Just wondering if you have the BOTTLE ,knowing you haven't the savvy, to but U Mikey at current levels. Such buying opportunities don't arise too often. Will watch them very closely this week and would be delighted to secure them around the 17mark. If you agree I will kick to touch.

return generally publicised is the div yield which is used to conveniently compare yields of competitors in same industry/sector and also with other sectors.of interest to investors concentrating on income return rather than capital appreciation.

I suppose you can only measure the buy back return in hypothetical terms as no income is transferred to the investor.As already posted the 520mill equates to 49/50c per share. So div and bb = 110c and you can apply this to your PAT figure ( 1.57ps) or to your sp. However as current bb is a once off event it is not really relevent in calculating returns - it is a once off capital redistribution.

Div = 60c - PBT FIGURE = 1.9 BILLION = 1.85 per share assuming today's s/h of 1.025billion .%age return = 32.4%

PAT say 1.615billion. = 1.57 per share ; 38.2%.BIRG have stated %age return to be 40% which gives PAT = 1.5Bn.

Div yield depends on prevailing SP.' 10.5 SP = 5.7%. 9.53 = 6.3%.

buy back = 520mill equates to 50c per share assuming 1.025bn as of today or 49c per share assuming 1 jan holding of 1.057bill.total =60 + 50c but only 60c gross to your pocket.Additional 480mill buy back = 47.7 per share with completion of current buy back.

no one can say profits will continue unabated .expectation now is that interest rate may drop to c 2.5% in 2025, possibly 2.25 or 2%. Fall in interest rate may encourage more economic activity and less provision for bad debts.A 200million less provision for bad debts will compensate for sizeable interest rate fall. If BIRG adopted the same bad debt provision in 2023 as they adopted in 2022 the 23 PBT figure would have been 2.16 Billion ,and not 1.9billion, and a different picture would be painted today.

The BOD have c as AIB and BIRG onsistently stated a maximum pay out ratio of PAT 40% which has been approved by s/h at agm's so only means of increasing div going forward is increasing PAT or reducing s/h number. The current large buy back is a once off as AIB and BIRG have promised for last 18 months to return surplus capital which they are doing by way of buy back.Hopefully BIRG wll live up to it's promise and buy back the 480 million balance of 1 billion, as AIB have done. If they do shares in issue reduce to c 960 million.BIRG has has hit mkt cap of over 11 billion in last month or so which supports a sp of 11.70 assuming 960mill shares.

Hi Sloopy, how are you feeling this glorious day. Just back from a 90km cycle and full of energy. 2 good rugby champions cup games this afternoon/evening .Will enjoy the evening game over a nice pint of guinness. The old guinness probably too warm in your neck of the woods. Be careful of the lager as it can cause havoc to the insides. Mind you that could be of benefit to you. You will pour on the pounds lounging in that pool - much harder to get off. Must say all the lounging around the pool appears to have removed the smile from your face.

Did you not find the reposting of the Doomster's posting history amusing ? difficult to believe an "investor" can get it so wrong and that is without going down the IAG/EJ Ryanair routes. I shall revisit BIRG and highlight his posts in this area.

Sure you are watching Uncle Mikey's SP very closely. Down on my 16.96 buy but will watch them closely this week. Put an order in to buy at 16.50 on friday morning but cancelled this friday evening seeing they closed around 16.75.

The Doomster will be getting excited about fall in U Mikey's SP whereas the astute investor is rubbing his hands at the buying opportunity which may not come around again in a hurry. Another 8/10% uplift in June travel of U Mikey and momentum picks up again.

ps- whenever your poolside picture pops up my thoughts immediately focus on gym work and 100km cycles. Work much better on weight control than lounging pool side.
