as you like tracking my ryanair buys bought a final tranche at 15.5 on 6 sept.

awaiting responses on 1) your a/line choice to 31 march 25 2) is birg a strong sell at the moment and 3) future prognosis for the boo and if you have been approached for rights issue advice.

The SOLE occasion he ramped BIRG they proceed to fall 30% within 3 months !

At a later date and a SP of 8.12 he recommends them as a STRONG SELL and they jump 30% in same time period !

In 2020 BIRG issued 2 no AT1 instruements both of which can be repurchased in 2025.

Investors being offered to tender in the larger of the 2 (675mill). In essence, a substitution of 1 for another on different terms.

Yes, AIB are enjoying their month in the sun with 300 mill shares written off at the stroke of a pen whereas BIRG have spent over 6 months in BB 48odd million shares with another 5 million odd to come. In extending your brain box calculating the relative recent growth of AIB/BIRG no doubt you will allow in your calculations the additional 68.5c gross dividend receivable by BIRG S/Hs in 24 v those of AIB.

Are we to assume that you believe the 27% market cap premium enjoyed by AIB over BIRG is well warranted and will continue. AIB and BIRG comparative figs for 22 and 23.

AIB 22 ; PBT = 880 MILL ; Impairment Provision = 7 mill. Distrib =381 mill.CET1 =16.3% ROTE = 9.6%.

AIB 23 ; PBT =2.4Bn ; Impairment Provision = 171 mill.Distrib = 2.2Bn. CET1=15.8% ;ROTE = 25.7%.

BIRG 22 ; PBT =1.1Bn ;Impairment provision = 187 mill.Distrib = 345mill ; CET1 =15.4% ROTE =17.3%

BIRG 23 - PBT = 1.9Bn ;Impairment provision = 403mill. Distrib = 1.675Bn.;CET1 = 15.3%.

Examine the above and you see BIRG outperformed AIB in 22 with a PBT figure of 1.287Bn and 887mill for AIB - Impairment figures having been stripped out..

In 23 AIB outperform BIRG with a PBT figure of 2.572Bn as against 2.303Bn for BIRG. However, BIRG Div for year = 95c against 26.5c for AIB.

BIRG have also publicly stated that the Group aims to distribute annual ordy div building to 40% of Statutory profits with this policy having a range of 40-60% to provide flexibility if required. would expect this to be implemented when publishing f/y 24 results together with substantial share BB..

I see nothing in above to justify a 27% premium in AIB Mkt Cap over BIRG.

you continue to look through the rear view mirror. Going on the figures quoted AIB up 9% and BIRG up 2.5%.

I am sure you will have noted that AIB recently announced their share buy back of additional 500million wich was completed in last few days . End result is AIB giving back 2.2bn Iin 24 as opposed to 1.7bn by BIRG. So at present AIB shareholders receiving more cream ( 525mill) (than their BIRG counterparts. AIB s/h now down to c. 2.11BN. Perhaps the market is now taking on board the probability of govt holding being removed in 2025, but not necessarily solely by buy back.

As already posted will be interesting to see how BIRG reacts in Feb 25 to scale of AIB's 24 distribution to s/hs.As both Banks have almost identical capital ratios it is likely that a minimum of 675mill to be applied to bb and 700mill as divs in 25. BIRG shareholding to be reduced to 950mill in 25 which will result in rerating of SP.

At present AIB cap = almost 13.4Bn and BIRG = 10.5Bn ( 1.01Bn by 10.41) with result AIB valuation is over 27% in excess of that of BIRG. Historically the differential has never been so large,generally in the 15-20% max range.

So AIB currently outperforming BIRG but will be very surprised if BIRG fail to catch up in coming months .

So Cuckoo, give up looking in that rear view mirror. You have a big windscreen in front of you, have a good looksee and give us your figures for AIB and Birg as end of february 25.

-Your glorification of Boohoo and your purchase at £3.78 and now at 28p. Lucky you didnt buy at 500p but maybe you did.

-your confident prediction of Ryanair in 2020 and now seeing them as the Wd No 1 A/L,Unbelievable.

-your rejection of BIRG/AIB at SP of 1.32/80c and seeing them apprecite by 850% /650% subsequently. You subsequently change tune and recommend BIRG at €10 only to see them drop 30% over following 5 months. Following this ,when BIRG drop to €8.13 you recommend them as STRONG SELL and they then APPRECIATE 30% Unbelievable.

-You recommend RR in early 2020 and their SP collapses to 90p with a RI of 32p !!!. While they subsequently recover almost 4 years later you are long gone, assuming you were ever in the game.

Make sure you hols on to that FTSE DOG Gold medal although with the current price of gold a case could be mae for selling it !

what is your purpose in posting Birg's total divs for years ending 3/06 -3/07 and 3/08 seeing I have already posted those figures on 7 August ?

The FACT of the matter is that a final Div of 60c was paid out in June 24 and Joeoh, and every other investor will not give a flying Bleeb whether this relates to the year 23 or even the Chines New Year. Perhaps ,Cuckoo, you are out of the tax net but I can say with total certainty that the Revenue commissioners will likewise not give a flying Bleeb whether this payment relates to 23 or the Chinese New year. Their SOLE INTEREST is that this income is received in 24 and shall be taxed as 24 income. Comprennez. It is also equally FACTUAL that the dividend receipt for 24 shall equal 95c which represents an increase of GREATER than 50% of any dividend pay out by Bank of Ireland in any income tax year. FACT.

Going forward and considering the full year results for 24 the CE stated in his H1 24 interim report that the Bank's impairment provision for f/y 24 shall based on 20 basic points. If this comes to pass the impairment provision will be of the order of 163/165 million. If this figure was adopted in f/y 23 the PBT figure would have been 2.14 bn and not 1.9Bn.

A PBT of 2bn or greater (2.05) is quite likely for 24 which would leave 700mill available for final div or almost 70c per share.

Cuckoo - any possibility you might get out of the uniform for awhile, get away from the rear view mirror, and give us your thoughts on 24 f/y results looking through the front window. Also with your IC yield curve hat on, your interest rate predictions over coming 12 months.
