Considering NW reduced their impairment provision by 219mill in 24 and Barc have provided for only 90mill for car finance liability 470mill appears very high for BIRG.

When releasing H1 results BIRG commented on impairment figure of c 170mill add in 80mill for car finance =250mill impairment figure. My 24/2 predictions are ;

PBT = 1.9Bn.

Impairments = 250mill.

Divs = 650mill- 65c per share.

BB = 550mill.

Pbt = 6.2bn

Nat west pbt =7.2 bn,ahead of consensus.

Sp down 3%. Mkt cap c 45 bn and govt holding down to 8%.

Impairment fig down from 578mil in 23 to 359mil in 24.little effect of car finance problem which could be good for birg

Like Barclays SP has more than doubled in last 12 months.

Barcl PBT = 8.1 Bn

Barc set aside 90 mill for car finance scandal.would imagine barc more exposed than birg so good news for birg.

Barc put up 24% to 11bn.div up 5% to 8.4p.CET1 ratio=13.6%

Returning 10bn to s/h in 24 to 26 in divs and bb majority by bb. SP down 5% this morning although they have doubled in last 12 months.

Barclays report f/y results tomorrow,13/2.

Nat West report 14/2.

Lloyds report on 20/2 and HSBC on 21/2.

So plenty of action over coming week before main event on 24/2.

Santander up 7.37% on back of annual nett income up 11% to 3.25Bn and announcement of a 10Bn euros share buy back in 2025 and 2026. In a BIRG context ; Santander Mkt cap = 81.4Bn whereas BIRG = 9.6Bn so 8.5 times size of Birg .

Santander shareholding = just over 15Bn and Birg = 1.003Bn. Santander 2024 net Income = 3.25 Billion and BIRG = 1.7Bn ??.

Santander EPS = 0.20 and Birg probably 0.17.

Santander mkt cap 8.5 times size of BIRG whereas nett income just double BIRG.

Santander BB guts of 2billion shares in 25/26 and AIB predicted to return 1.9 Bn to s/h in 2025 .where does that leave BIRG ?

- Your comments on Ryanair returning to their shareholders in 2024 a sum equal to 50% of the mkt cap of Easy Jet and do you believe a similar sum will be returned in 2025. They have made a good start to 2025 declaring a div of 22.3c in January 2025.

- Seeing the Market Cap of Easy Jet was 2.628 Bn in September 2020 , do you agree that E Jet would have been liquidated in 2021 if they had not secured Bail out funds and R I totalling 2.6Bn. Is it not remarkable that the 2021 Bail out/RI funds was almost identical to the september 2020 Market Cap !!.- Seeing that you predicted the liquidation of Ryanair by March 2021 would you agree the fact that Ryanair Mkt Cap today is 23.5Billion must rank as the stock market LAZARUS of the decade - or perhaps you are the stock market Doomster of the century, especially when the Boo is brought into the equation.
