Does that put Continental and/or Xilinx, both Big Pawns in a potential bidding war scenario should they feel their interests are better served by themselves owning SEE.?

Most likely a daft question but here goes. Hasn't stopped me before.
Why would SEE/ Continental / Xilinx want to sell to Apple or Softbank?.
I understand why Cruise benefits from selling to GM but how does the sale of SEE serve the long term interests of Continental and Xilinx ?

This Patent does not mention DMS but with a little creative licence one could imagine the Global Bus 100 also including DMS and the Patent describing an element of Toyota's Envelope Protection system that it is developing for the Guardian/Chauffeur systems.

No, iNEXT. Expect it to be first platform to launch with EyeQ5 and state of the art DMS. Automated driving sub-L5 needs human factors research more than neural nets. Well worth getting

FMCSA, NHTSA Extend Comment Window on Automated Driving Systems

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration are extending the public comment period meant to gather input on automated driving systems.
The agencies announced 30-day extensions to the comment window in separate documents filed in the Federal Register. NHTSA’s announcement was published July 29. FMCSA’s announcement is scheduled for publication July 31.
The initial comment period began in late May after FMCSA and NHTSA issued advance notices of proposed rulemaking requesting input on automated driving systems. The new deadline to submit comments is Aug. 28.
FMCSA’s notice requests comment on 10 subject areas:
Whether federal safety regulations require a human driver
Commercial driver license endorsements
Hours-of-service rules
Medical qualifications for human operators
Distracted driving and monitoring
Safe driving and drug and alcohol testing
Inspection, repair and maintenance
Roadside inspections
Cybersecurity
Confidentiality of shared information
