Royal dutch shell said Tuesday that it plans to shed costs aggressively, including existing operations in up to 10 countries,even as it plans to build new petrochemical plant near Pittsburgh.
The oil giants cost cutting plan comes as the company faces pressure to bolster its finances following the costly acquisition of British energy giant BG group.
Shell said it expects to sell $30 billion in assets from 2016 through 2018 representing 10% of its oil and gas output.that will require offloading operations in five to 10 countries.
