Given the imminent opening of the port and the need for preparatory operations to commence immediately, I am pleased to report that Scanport has now received a letter of intent with MPS acknowledging Westminster as the Technical Partner and setting out the preliminary terms regarding the appointment and scope of work. The document confirms exclusivity whilst final rates and the formal agreement are finalised, indicating this should be concluded within 30 days.

So is it within 30 days of the receipt of the LOI?

Being exclusive and the time scales, unless there is some skull duggery and stupidity, the loi has to proceed - you ain;t going to risk a $1.5b project if your security walks out days after opening because of contractual problems - but we live in a strange world

Also good is SA is a mega security conscious state - you can't fart without being monitored - so to choose WSG is quite an endorsement.

JV looks just the job to unlock a ruck of opps - the local partner clearly has the ear of most business in SA- and this is what you need - win/win for both parties.
