Hi Kingy
On stocks of these sizes mms don't really play games. If there are no non mm orders - they run a square book and make their %.
But when they have orders, they use this knowledge [which peeps do not have] to either persuade peeps to buy or sell by making it look weak or strong - so they fill their clients order as best they can - they make $ and a grateful, repeat work client hopefully for them.
By offering to buy more shares off you than to sell to you infers they have a taker of this excess as they are inherently square / neutral and they would be stuck with this excess on their books otherwise - they do not take risks - just their spread on buys and sells.
They will not trade WSG or similiar stocks on their own account and hold just enough to satisfy min liquidity as they have to offer you a quote, however bad.
Now, its quiet, in order to spice things up,[cause they want volume even though its square] they are dropping the ask a tad on each buy to get some interest both ways - buyers as I'm getting it cheaper and sellers - oh its dropping.
All the time taking their spread - the price differential - which they will vary and balance using algos between volume and % spread to maximise benefit to them given the market at any point in time.
