All depends upon cumulative size of purchases.
IG have stock, when they don't they go into the market to buy and when "their" holding reaches a certain %, they do not take any more opening positions - both CFD and SB together. They are neutral v client - all depends on L2
But often when they close shop, prices are volatile and now holders can't trade, they tend to close at a loss - which will be a profit against their in house holding as long as it rises later - they can hold for yonks unlike traders.

You have to take a view on Lombards discretionaries - but if they wanted out today, the book wouldn't be square.
Lom know its a relatively iliiquid share so they would have sold all they intended to when the volume was there - its now too late. Volume is trickling to a halt comparatively.
And the discretionaries would be peed off if they start dumping at 20p when they could have got 30p. They want to retain their clients!!

Lombard are selling discretionary clients funds - its not insititutional [or theirs].
They would have sold some to reduce the risk for their clients whilst still having some upside - frankly, over 15% held by discretionary clients appeared on the high side
And Miton are dumping shares all over the place - check the correlation of any company with Miton as holders!

Book totally square atm - purely traders - clearly today more "concerned" traders than not.

As volume subsides [as it is now] it will all calm down!!

If Lom discretionary wanted out totally, would have done it with the massive vols and RNS the complete exit - RNSing it now means their order is finished. - imo

Company prospects totally unrelated to this trading - and the book is still square - wouldn't be if Lom selling - today's comparativley low volume is just recycling hence the square book.
