Lets please deal in the facts of investment. You can be showing a profit or a loss but its not until you cash in that you realise a profit or a loss. MKS represents about 4% of my total investments, not taking into account my mortgage free home. In the banking crash of 2008 I did lose money, fact. If MKS went down to 50p I would keep my holding because I believe in MKS and am taking a long view. The long view is for me upwards of 7 years. So please don't make it personal. I have been investing since the mid 1970's and have got an opinion on the subject with which you don't have to agree. Good luck JJ

No one holding MKS has lost a penny provided they continue to hold. Any loss is only a 'paper loss' until you cash in. Its the small investor who is inclined to panic, but provided you don't have all your eggs in one basket, I hold to the view that the share price in 2025 could well reach closer to £5. If not invested in MKS then it could be worth a dabble right now as IMO you would be buying at a good discount. Good luck to all. JJ

Of course M&S want to resolve all the issues but I'm happy that the Company is working hard on that. Take a look at the current share price, its performing well. If like me you are a long term investor then we are doing well. I bought at 114p so no real concern right now. And do you know what people are going and buying in the stores. The sun is shining so people are buying their summer clothes, and buying convenience food, which M&S excels at. Don't get caught up in the doom and gloom scenario. JJ

On the whole the media are giving out a message that M&S is a great business. When events like this are suffered by a bank then there are always negative stories with very little on the positive side, completely the opposite for M&S. I suggest stepping back from the 'worriers' on this bb and come back on for the results. By then all should be good IMO. Just been cycling the Loch Ness Etape so I'm very relaxed. Good luck JJ

Jds if you had followed Fenders lead you could have sold and then bought back in having increased the number of shares you are holding. You need to have a rethink as Fender is offering a fresh perspective. Anything written on here cannot be seen as advice but can be very helpful. Carrington is another who offers helpful comment on how he approaches his MKS investment.

Hi Crossley as I see the HMT subject area:- HMT have been selling their NWG shares either into the market place or to NWG. Either way the monies from the sales go into HMT coffers. Those shares which HMT held and which were bought by NWG were cancelled. Of course the majority of the shares held by HMT were sold into the market place. At least that is my understanding. JJ

Crossley I am afraid I didn't understand your last post and wonder whether you have misunderstood what is happening when the HMT figures are announced.
