Mick, whilst the picture is relatively rosy now, the long term holders have experienced several periods where KRG just stop paying for the oil. At this point we carry on pumping and Capex for no incomes at all until latest dispute or political crisis resolved itself. Meanwhile we’re subsidising KRG. The SP is where it is because of a massive risk factor.

Another RNS with good news but not well written.
Why do they quote Q3 production and then compare it with the previous 9 months? Is that the average over previous 9 months or total?
Income, they still don’t separate out this years real cash income from the additional income from previous years (I know I could do the sums but why don’t they just make it clear?
With oil going up $34 a barrel, why doesn’t margin increase by the same amount?
Good news we have a BB arbitration trial date though not sure what that will do for KRG relations.
Couldn’t see any figure on reserves- that’s the key question.

I’d say with both BP and Shell bosses hinting it’s a good idea, the size of the Govt spending hole, the majority of the general public in favour and the Conservatives desperate need for some popularity it’s a nailed on certainty.
Only question is terms and duration.

I’d say because SP is at or just above 52 week highs, WFT2 on the horizon, dividend still pathetic and all profits solely based on an artificially high oil price.

Terry, I was thinking exactly the same. Seems today’s media not interested in anything positive. All news has to be negative to generate polarised positions and a split of opinion. I’ve given up listening to Radio 5 live now as every article is chosen to divide opinion.

Ace, in a word Yes from me. These periods of seemingly missed opportunity will be balanced by excessive gains once gas prices drop again.
As Trek says stability of cashflow allows decent dividends and cheaper borrowing.
Viking - no way this will be 150 by Xmas it’s an income share not a growth one. Next step up in SP will either be on back of a dividend increase or a new profit generating asset.

The quarterly dividend is tiny, usually outweighed by share price movements. As an example each share has lost 47p already today. If you’ve lost 47p to gain 25 cents you’re doing it wrong!

Nope, looking to add to a long term holding but even if the price is stable at this level the spread chops and changes between 4 and 12% just with HL. So timing is important. 5% always makes a difference!
Aandi, thanks for that. Private investors within a broker’s nominee account makes much more sense. Guess that shows the level of smallish players invested here.

I’m tempted to buy a few more whilst around .28 / .29 but the spread is just ridiculous with HL today. I understand it’s AIM and would be ok with 5% but it’s over 10% on some buy quotes. Too much of a gamble at that spread.

Hi Andy, can you please clarify last post? Are you saying Hargreaves hold over 20% of EQT shares or 20% of those held by brokers (and hence available for immediate sale)? If the latter, do you know what percentage brokers hold as presumably they’re all trying to sell them at a profit.

What else are people going to do with their money? 4% in a fixed term savings scheme when inflation is 10% and rising?
At least we’re keeping up with inflation here and I bought lots under £1 so some capital gain as well, though not expecting more of that til next acquisition.

Although you’re correct that corp tax rate will increase by about 30%, the additional tax on profit will only be 6 or 7% of the profit (depending on what sector the company is in).
So the pool of profit will be a little smaller which will either impact investment, reserves, paying down of debt or dividends. Probably a little of each so I doubt we’ll see dividends reducing, perhaps increasing more slowly.
However, I think Aviva have already indicated dividends for next few years so doubt they’ll go back on those. A problem for 2025 perhaps.
