Don't think you can put lack of diversity, KRG politics and payment delays aside - they're what drive the share price.

Wood group attention now focussed on Apollo bid plus likely other bids to materialise from the US. Price too low at present so they’ll be looking to get it higher.
Doubt they’ll be paying EQT any attention for next few months.

MJ cites 3 very credible potential reasons for lack of buyers.
I think there’s also a 4th which is that despite excellent dividends and cashflow to cover, many institutional investors / funds will not even consider DEC due to their ESG policies. That limits the buyers considerably.

Anyone know if the USA uses gas to produce electricity like we do?
If they do we’re not so tied into poor weather for gas sales.

There's a whole chunk of the limited credibility EQT have left riding on completion by the long stop date.
They have claimed to be talking to a range of investors (and spent our money engaging professional banking help) and won't extend the long stop.
I don't think the 4.5M is a fixed amount - it's just what they were hoping to include in last year's accounts.
Conclude sale and we can all take a breath and tick off a completion - fail and its another in the long list of failed promises and rejection of EQT's projects by institutional investors / partners.
There's a hell of a lot riding on the 28th - probably more than on the MDCs.

Another reason why the last placing wasn't a great idea.
The hard of thinking people looking at such TR1s won't understand the rationale behind the numbers but will see institutions reducing their holdings - a negative to potential investors.

Have to agree with Viking (well not the rape and pillage stuff). Labour will be spending on uk green projects so probably a better prospect for VLS than current Govt.

Makes sense. My brother runs a papermill in Yorkshire, his biggest expenses are power and getting rid of waste!

Depends what sort of account you're holding shares in: I hold DEC in a HL ISA and an HL SIPP. All DEC dividends paid into my account in pounds automatically. I look at amounts quite closely to make sure they have got witholding tax correct and have never noticed a 1% charge - I'd assumed it was covered in SIPP and ISA fees.
You do need to fill in a W8 BEN form though to get no witholding tax in SIPP and only 15% in ISA - else you'll get stung for 30%.
If you're just holding shares in a trading account then I think you get 30% witholding tax and may be charged for currency conversion.

Makes you wonder who is selling now. If you bought at 105 I doubt you'd be selling at 105.4 - not much of a profit there after dealing costs.
Makes you wonder whether if they'd just borrowed the money from their revolving credit facility @ about 6% we'd still be up above 110 and not have disgruntled shareholders? Whilst I like the acquisition I still think the funding was a shot in the foot - especially since they had already shot themselves in the other foot with previous placing.

Aug 31 to Feb 13th obviously not 4 months plus 15 days so looks like another month of sponsoring KRG with interest free loans has been inserted.

Vista, the discount of offer price to market has absolutely no impact on dilution - though it has obviously impacted share price today!
Dilution is the percentage of extra shares now in existence for the same company (accepting that the company may have got bigger). There are now 15% more shares in existence so anyone who used to own 1% of the company now owns about .85% - hence diluted.

Yep, you missed that share price reduction and fears over further dilution and optimal use of capital / borrowing will delay planned listing on US exchanges.
It was widely thought that once relevant market capitalisation reached required levels for US listing that would further boost share price.

Not only are they paying 12% on the new shares forever, they also incurred costs of £5.5M in the placing - that alone would have been the annual interest on a £100M loan!
An extra 15% of shares now in circulation - no wonder the price has dropped. Should stop it ever getting above 130 again.

DEC did a similar placing about 3 years ago and got a lot of criticism from shareholders for the dilution with little or no notice or consideration for the short term impact on shareholders (long term it may well be good but what if we need to sell next week?)
Having been excellent at ESG comms I think this is a real own goal:
- the news leaked so price dropped over last few weeks
- small investors had very little opportunity to get involved (little time and small percentage of overall offer)
- once again trust lost in DEC which will take years to rebuild (price will recover but it will take a long time as who knows where next dilution is).
Bad decision - we're not short of credit options. If they'd just held the buyback cash for acquisitions we might not be here.

Interesting as always - these could be read as it's all very difficult and several large companies with relevant production and financial experience have failed hence delays, overruns and potential failure for EQT.
OR all the potential competitors have fallen by the wayside leaving more opportunities for EQT.

Guess you're in the latter camp. Personally, seeing how many others have failed (and at some cost) explains EQT delays and makes me think we're still on a gamble (hence Share price) but the fact we're still here and might have a working MDC soon gives me some encouragement.

Taking your only paying customer to arbitration was never going to simplify relationships!
