Good for my Genel and RDSB shares but irrelevant for DEC - less than one percent of their output is oil.
No evidence of any correlation between Brent and gas prices.

Looks to me from the RNS that open offer totalled almost 142M of which 117M were sold via basic entitlement. Leaving about 25M for the over entitlement bids, which totalled 40M.
Seems then if allocation is equal (ie irrespective of whether you asked for 50%, 75% or 100%), everyone should get about 60% of what they requested. Does that look about right?

Looks as though plenty of buyers aren't expecting a flood of cheap shares coming onto the market on 18th June.
Why would anyone pay 117p today if they thought the price was going to drop end of the week?
Good news for holders and those who applied for more - not so good for those who sold expecting a drop in price.

RB i didn't sell Kier to fund purchases in my holdings as I wanted to generate enough to go for basic plus 100% and was trying to rearrange portfolio a bit and get out of Lloyds and RB.
However, I did sell my mum's at 112 to fund a re-purchase at 85p.
Concur that getting over basic entitlement will be unlikely, especially given the likely 20/25p premium on issue - no doubt there will be some back room shenanigans going on to teh disadvantage of the PIs.

Unexpected but very welcome kick up at the end of the week.
Do we think someone is fiddling with the prices? Bit suspicious price is dropped to 105 ish for two 8 million buys mid week and is now sneaking up again.

I was expecting a bit of a fade away to sub 110 as holders sold up to fund offer purchases and those who were looking for a way out without taking up the offer offloaded before any potential price drop following the new issue on 18th.
All looking good for next few weeks, I've applied for basic plus 100% for both ISA and SIPP holdings - it's going to be interesting to see how much we all get over basic.
As per Peter's post, HL have taken the money for the full basic entitlement plus 100%.

Think today's little rise is probably due to a reduced number of sellers - which would have been at a maximum yesterday as shareholders took the option of selling at 111 to buy at 85 via the offer.
Should be limited sellers now for a week or so until new allocations are announced and available for disposal at an instant profit.

Guess all DEC can do to illustrate the viability and profitability of the company is to continue to bump the dividend up. Once it gets to 12% or so then income investors will have to take note.
It's not as though their investor presentations lack information / detail / plans for the way forward.
Think share price will stabilise here for a while until everyone gets over the last cash raise / share issue turbulence.

They'll have to do some sums to work out the allocations and who gets additional shares over and above basic entitlement.
Then it depends on your broker; HL say allocated shares will be in my account around 18th June.
Guess you'll have an early heads up when you see how much money has been taken from your account to pay for your allocation.

Trying to work out the logic here. If there's a chance share price will drop to below current level then surely many Kier holders will sell existing shares @ 111p ish to fund purchase of more at 85p through the offer (my likely route to funding).
Now I recognise there's a risk that you won't get any extra allocation above your holding / 8 times 7 - but anyone who doesn't do this is surely unlikely to sell their new holding at sub 111p levels after allocation - so where will the sp drop come from?

This is not a DEC issue it is a UK/US tax issue that your broker isn't competent to deal with - how hard is that to understand?
Many other posters have told you their brokers sort it out quite easily.
One has said his struggles, but admits it's their fault and pays him compensation as a result.
You're feeling paranoid because you're the only one suffering and you're not doing anything about it.

Accept it, change brokers or sell up - but please let it go.

The fact you bought DEC at the very top of it's price range whilst not understanding the dividends is an indication of how seriously your views should be taken by others.

If HSBC admit they got their process wrong and are giving you compensation then that is their error - it is not DEC's fault. My point was don't blame the company for your choice of broker. Why would you stay with someone who's mistakes cost you money and effort to resolve? There are lots out there who just get it correct. As Meerkat Duster says...SIMPLES.

Think it's a UK / US tax authority issue, nothing DEC can do to change international tax law. As per previous comments I'm sure your broker has some advantages, obviously dealing with US firms is not one of them.
It's nothing to do with being silenced, your experience is a minority one and not shared by those DEC holders who use a broker who, for whatever reason, can sort out the US tax issues.

ADV11 is only commenting on his personal share buying / holding arrangements.
Duster is correct about general holdings @ 15% withheld.
Beans44 is correct that there is no tax implications for a SIPP.
Below is my clarification from HL:
"Yes, the W-8BEN form provides different tax treatment depending on the account in question;
The headline rate reduces US Withholding Tax from 30% to 15%, however a special exemption is in place for SIPPs which reduces the tax from 30% to 0%."
It's not as bad as it sounds from ADV11's experience.

Of course, finding oil, pumping oil and distributing oil are all Genel bread and butter stuff - it's getting paid for it that seems to be the tricky part of being successful and making us all rich.

Depends on your broker. It's mid day 10th June for me - with Hargreaves Lansdown. Check with whomever sent you the allocation paperwork.

I reckon Genel is up about 10% from recent low - does this qualify as a Big Surge Week?
I never much liked BSDs anyway - too much temptation for short term holders. Slow and steady much more relaxing.

Any % comparison only relevant on the day it is done! G is slumping so yield effectively goes up, Diversified has slipped from 130p to 104p following issue of more shares - no plans to cut the size of DEC divi so yield is just a reflection of the share price - so highly variable it's apparently dropping in % terms but staying the same in cash terms with a rising share price. Hopefully G will be similar with sp rising to make yield more "normal" as per Boyo's 200p / 5% numbers.

Surprised Bdev and Persimmon are both up when the news is full of concrete shortages, timber shortages and plaster shortages. Are big builders better supplied than Dad and son local builders?
Not complaining though - was just expecting a bit of a drift down with the ftse.

Years ago we debated the issue of delayed or postponed payments where the KRG made all the rules. The conclusion at the time was that they wouldn't be stupid enough to remove their primary source of income, but were likely to push the IOCs and test their patience to see what they could get away with. Think it was agreed then that the only bargaining chip the IOCs had was CAPEX and pumping rates. Hopefully, Genel and DNO are playing this card in the background, but wisely not trumpeting it to the media / shareholders. Negotiations in the Middle East don't follow conventional Western processes.
As per Bunks, look away and it'll either get better or it'll get worse - whilst dividend is at this level I'm prepared to take the risk of common sense and mutual benefits prevailing eventuality.
Mind you some Genel diversification to another region would be welcomed and might assist negotiations with KRG. If you want to see diversified expansion look at Diversified Energy (previously DGOC).
