If you're not going to sell (I'm just going to wait patiently with fingers crossed for payments and monies owing to pour into the coffers and be passed on as dividends) then perhaps you should look at SP a little less often. It'll either recover or it won't - your looking won't have any impact whatsoever other than raising your blood pressure.
I'm content too hold all my various shares for the dividends so only look at prices once a week or so - usually when market is up. Not a good strategy for an active trader but I've lost more by selling too early than I have by sitting tight so happy that I've got shares with a future and they can look after themselves now.
Deep breaths and patience - if you can't do that then pick a price and sell.

Easy to answer - as soon as you think your money will earn more elsewhere then move it.
Trick is to balance what might happen here and what you think might happen elsewhere. An easier decision if you getting a decent dividend whilst you sit patiently waiting, more difficult if you aren't.
Afraid with a company like Kier, its really only financial news / profit updates / losses / dividend that will impact share price significantly.
Last few months may have been stellar or may have been rubbish - we won't know till results are issued.

Seeing the price of quick charge points, there is going to come a time where running charging facilities @ 35p / Kwh is going to be more profitable then drilling, extracting, transporting, refining and selling oil based products.
Recent Guy Martin programme had him driving to John O'Groats and back - cost about £240 in quick charging - it's only cheap if you do it slowly at home overnight - anything else is exorbitant with a captive audience.

Kier one of the few shares not in the red today and still hanging around the 125-128 level whilst rest of market falls by up to 4% - got to be a good sign that holders are hanging on for Sep update.

Thinks MA's point about company view of SP is key. If they see it as fair value or over valued why buy.
However, if they see it as undervalued then buy backs make sense as you're getting all the benefits of reduced share numbers but at a bargain price.

Don't forget this share is crap and will never make £15 according to your repeated posts - prior to my application of the filter.

I'm with Mr G - slightly lower profits at no risk much more attractive to me than high profits at big risk.
I get the latter with Genel - every month is a mystery as to whether the KRG will actually pay us for the oil or not - high reward potentially, but lots of months where the sales are just added to the debt mountain rather than being paid for.

Guess once they've raised the finance, today's better move is buying known assets from smaller companies (or takeovers) rather than risking Capex on exploration for new fields (the discovery to pumping time is horrific so payback takes years. Taking over some of the smaller companies with decent reserves already onstream looks better if the price is right.

I won't talk numbers but don't see how shares are not as attractive now as they were when they were £1.30 given:
- recent acquisitions have increased reserves dramatically
- Oak Tree adding finance / partnership / second level of governance
- dividend has increased
- gas prices have increased and impact hedging prices
- money available for further acquisitions is more readily available

Only downsides seem to be slight dilution due to extra shares and general dislike of Gas / Oil shares due to ESG concerns.

Urban, as per VM's response, in my HL SIPP it's 0% and in my ISA it's 15%.
From previous posts on the issue it seems different brokers / banks all handle the complexity of this arrangement differently so any responses will either be generic "what should happen" or specific "my broker does X."
Some do it well, some don't.

It's not a real loss, more an accounting convention to manage long term hedging.

I'm still relatively happy share price has stabilised at 125/126 level with all the recently issued shares having been available for instant gains for those who want out.
As you intimate, think we'll hover around here til there is some news update on finances / debts / dividends - hopefully all good news.

If you buy lots it might go up!
Debt repayment predicated on KRG finances and politics - so who knows. If you read previous posts you'll get some views on monies owed and possible share price movements.

Why the negative reaction to H1 results?
Too much hedging providing certainty but not maximising profit from current high gas prices?

What do people think it would have taken in today's report to get a decent uplift in share price?
Increased reserves?
Quicker additional production coming online?
Faster KRG payment schedule?
Bigger dividend uplift?
