CB, I don’t understand the motivation for your continued posts. You have a view you think is correct; others disagree. You’ve made your point repeatedly and certain others still don’t agree. Do you think they are going to change their minds?
If not then you’re just wasting your time, go do something productive instead. You might be right but if people don’t want to listen they won’t.
You’d be better off as a Jehovah’s Witness or other religious zealot who cannot comprehend why people who have different views to them.
You might be right, who cares, move on!

If the fat bloke hadn't spent 6 years telling us what a great investment Genel was he might have some credibility.
His blog only useful for telling you who is playing football tonight - though many other places do that better.

Have been underwater for years and promising myself I'd get out once I got to b/even at 2800 ish. Toss up to go before or after results update but a profit is a profit and it's time to sell some stuff so I can have 25% of my SIPP tax free before Labour get in and change the rules.
Decent return over the 4 years with dividends and capital gain but don't really see recent rate of growth continuing and FTSE looking toppy.
Will leave some profit in there for others.

Some interesting comment at bottom of trading update on capping wells.
DEC now have 6 in house capping teams and are looking to rent out spare capacity to third parties to cap orphan wells and get some of the $2.7 Bn Govt money for capping "orphan" wells.
Reduce costs by having in house capacity, develop an extra income stream capping other peoples' wells and become the green saviour of the basins to boot - Genius!

There are quite a few Genel refugees here! Personally I've hung on thinking it can only get better, and am about 20% down at £1.50 ish but with dividends think I'm pretty close to break even eventually (but it's taken 4 years and a load of missed opportunities elsewhere).
In other news, much criticism of BP in the press today for their investment in Russia and the apparent hypocrisy of a UK company benefitting from Russian gas sales tactics (£3Bn last year). That might persuade some BP investors away from the dark side over to here - can only be a positive for Shel share price.

Those of us who have been around for a while are mostly big fans of the hedging. As MJ has said, we take certainty of some profit and a reliable dividend over boom and bust and a variable dividend. It's worked out great over the last 4 years from DGOC days to DEC.
I'm happy to get a reliable 10% and if you time entry an uplift in capital as well.
Price has trundled up and down between 95p ish and £1.30 so you can pick an entry point.
Think today's RNS publicly removing the fear of future equity raises will do a lot to set a share price floor around 105/110.

The Chancellor actually spent some time in his response to Labour in the House explaining why a windfall tax wasn't a sensible idea. He said something like "don't just use sound bites, look at the wider picture, it's complex."
He stressed that a windfall tax would hurt future investment which is needed to ensure the transition to greener sources.
Don't think we'll be getting a windfall tax under this Govt.

Well let's see:
Did you miss that the KRG still owe Genel 117Million dollars for oil delivered and never paid for?
Did you miss that KRG pick and chose when they pay for oil delivered, often just changing terms to their advantage unilaterally?
Did you miss that after after entering into PSCs for BB and Miran development and seeing much Genel Capex on these projects, KRG unilaterally just cancelled the arrangements and are now being taken to arbitration?
Quite a lot too miss if you're an investor here.
Big payments are great, regular payments over last 5 years would have been better.
Cheap oil is great but not if it's not paid for and agreements are cancelled without notice.
It may all get better - but I thought that in 2017!

Whilst Charting does have a place in identifying trends it is only part of the story - and can be subjective depending on where you start the lines from.
Croc and Naan also make valid points about charting being less appropriate for AIM stocks due to sharp rises and falls on new news and jerky financials.
Anyone who thinks that messages on here can move price up or down is deluded.

For info - I'm in at 1.2p but recognise we won't get back to that until we get some cashflow coming in. I think it will happen but it might not. I can't prove it with a chart as I'm hoping financial news over the next year will break the trendline and start an upward one.

I always find choosing the exit price much harder than picking an entry price.
I've sold too early many times and regretted it (made a profit but could have made a better one).
Even worse, sell too early and then invest in something which falls (Centrica for me) whilst your original holding continues to gain.
A few factors I now try to weigh up.
- if market and share price are both at highs then it might be time to sell
- if you're confident you have something better to do with the money then it might be time to sell
- if you're getting a good dividend then you might be able to wait a bit longer!
Recent Shell price falls are a good example - those who sold at the top and bought back 5% lower in are quids in but those who sold out of fear as it slipped past their mental stop losses are today wishing they'd held.
My long term average is just under £19 now (thanks to some buys sub £10) but happy to hold as i think there's more upside, the dividend is good, I'm rubbish at short term trading and I can't see anything obviously better to buy.
Mind you, even I wouldn't take my advice so please no-one else do so.

Bit disappointing that even following a name change from DGOC to DEC to try to illustrate that oil wasn't their prime concern, even some investors on this forum don't seem to realise what the companies they invest in actually do!

Looks like Gove wanting to appear tough and doing the right thing but totally unworkable in this format.
How does he expect cladding manufacturers to know where there products have been used and produce a list of buildings - they only know who they have sold the stuff to? Standby for a whole raft of companies closing down and starting again with a new name / company address.
Interesting to see if he will stop Bovis, Bdev, Wimpey et all selling houses as a threat.
Looking good on the news is now more important than actually solving the issue.

A chunky £28.6k buy at 11:19 so someone is confident they're getting a bargain.

A building forum might be a better bet for a good answer. This is for shares!

I see you as somewhere between an EQT cheerleader and head librarian.
Interesting last week or so:
- all my smelly old fossil fuel stocks and even BATs are up significantly
- all my green start ups down
-my strategy at present is to use fossil dividends to purchase green AIM stocks so working well at present.

Think EQT / VLS / GETECH etc are all losing out at present as investors switch from growth stocks into more defensive ones. So, patience needed here methinks, it's going to take excellent news, JVs, cash inflows or takeover speculation to bump the price up over next few months - lots of opportunities for top ups whilst we're being patient.

The specific on the plant date might be old news but the more generic point is that they have been setting targets they then fail to meet - not good for potential investors.
To regain trust they need to set some targets and meet them.

I was merely stating a few ESG "negatives" that I am aware of that are doing well - am sure there are loads more.
Might be a minnow but the point was more how long can income funds refuse a 10% yield from a natural gas company merely for ESG reasons.
