You're right there needs to be a new strategy - but not just for Shell.
The UK needs to decide a strategy for security of energy supply vs cost vs environmental impact vs acceptable profits for producers. Shell and others can then plan with a bit of certainty. The answer, as it has always been is more nuclear plants but we're now 15/20 years too late due to dithering.
Am sure some of the buy back decision is based on uncertainty over what to develop (so little Capex) and how to arrange accounts to avoid criticism.
We're going to have to go less green for cost / security reasons in the short term - however unacceptable that is to some vested interests. North Sea Oil and Gas / fracking etc all need to be back on the table for sensible discussion / planning.

I know I’ll regret this but go on then Char, what should UK and US do to resolve the situation ( bearing in mind NATO and UN will not support anything beyond military supplies and economic sanctions)? Oh, and bear in mind most Americans don’t know where Ukraine is or care about Europe.

Rainman - the first part of your post had some merit - doom mongers prophesying falls which subsequently occur due to a European War that no-ne really thought would happen are clutching at straws to support their excellent market forecasting abilities.
But to say most investors are hoping for SP falls to top up is ludicrous - I've bought between 8p and 5p and certainly don't want it to fall any further. I (and I'd expect everyone except you) would rather top up on a rising SP. Hoping the value of your shares fall so you can buy more is not investing, it's lunacy and deluded.

Nope, definitely a dumb question. Take a look at the whole market, this is not a Shell issue it's a geo-political one.

Size of company is handled very inconsistently across Govt and council. In the one hand, a company with the reserves and hence security to fulfil the contract is a sensible choice, the Govt also mandate giving SMEs every opportunity. This contradiction leaves it down to personal choice and guess who has the best PR and hospitality budgets!

Normal reason, more people want to sell than want to buy. That’s kind of how the market works.

ITGUY - if you're investing "all your money" in an AIM stock based on comments from people you don't know then you have bigger issues than just the current EQT share price.
This is not the place for savings or even investments, most AIM share holdings are speculative punts on embryonic companies whose cashflow is often precarious, whose future financials are uncertain and a percentage of whom struggle to exist to profit (not because their ideas are bad but because they struggle to raise cash and in the early days tend to spend a lot more than their income streams).
Hopefully EQT will overcome these hurdles in time, but if you want reliable investments you need to go to bigger markets.

Tartine pretty much summarises my view. All my thoughts are that it is under-priced for the reasons he mentions (at least one good news item should make an improvement after a dialogue of negative items).
Still holding here hoping I can stay solvent til market (and KRG) act more rationally based on Oil Price over production costs.
At least KRG payments and over payments / recoveries seem to be holding steady. I do think the Genel IR team could do far better at promoting the positives of the share within market regulations. IR webpage is still focussed on 2021 Half Year results - pathetic.

Which bit?
They have had reserves recalculated and there's less there than they previously thought / told the world.
If they are continually re-assessed downwards year on year (as they have been) then there isn't much left.

I was expecting a slow decline due to production, but losing 3 times as much in a technical revision as in a year's production doesn't look very sustainable.
300 ish MMbbls left and pumping and or losing 80 MMbbl per year!
Need some good news from somewhere - soonish!
