Well its a question that I have been thinking about for some months now. It would be a lot of money, a lot of dilution and some of you might not like the terms, as it will require a lot of new shares being issued. Banks will probably require at least half of the money coming from equity. So just for starters:
A placing to Wyloo at say 10p. A one for one rights issue at say 10p, fully underwritten by Wyloo. A lot of bank debt.
This would give us all of Hav, the Telfer mine and processing plant and all the NC JVs in the region.
Then we could give Rio a call.
Probably take best part of a year to do, by which time we will be bringing ore to the surface. I like it as a plan, but I expect some who dont like one extra share being issued wont be able to see the wood for the trees.
At US$2500 gold and US$5 copper, the dividends will pay for a lot of Callum's fuel bill - and my villa!

In the unlikely event that GGP owned all of Hav, yes there would be a significant issue of shares, but it wouldnt be dilutive, it would be massively accretive. Remember how NC value Hav, vs what is there.

Colonel, I think you are correct. This has been a rumour going around WA since last September. GGP/Wyloo/Twiggy have been preparing for this outcome.
Thats why I have never been a fan of Wyloo buying Solgold.

RK, it depends who owns the stake. Dont suppose NM will care what was paid for it. I cant imagine there would be another buyer purely for 'strategic investment' reasons, so it will more than likely go to someone who wants to be involved in Alpala for the long term, either as owner or JV partner.
IMO NC will either be taken over by a bigger major, or it will be broken up. It wont survive in current form. If the former I am not sure whether a small stake in Solgold and the Lundin stake will be relevant unless the buyer has bigger ambitions in Ecuador.

AFR reporting that NCs stake in solgold might go to Gina.

LA, I wouldnt have thought that Shaun will want to be producing any updated MRE atm. If NC is in receipt of an unwelcome bid, its NC that will be doing all the promoting of Hav. If SD is more of a buyer than seller, he would be quite happy to see NC continue to downplay Hav, though I really cant see how thats in NCs interest.
So SD can just sit back and watch the machinations and only show his hand when necessary, which clearly isnt now.

TomE, I don’t know whether you know but both NC and Ggp have stated that they don’t and won’t comment on press speculation.
For my part I have heard these stories since NC turned down the 5%. My guess is that there is some truth, but that could be due to NCs investors being ignorant of the merits of Havieron. Which is hardly surprising as NC have intentionally kept them in the dark. But if NC want to keep Hav, they will have to talk potential, and if they don’t want to keep Hav, they will really have to talk it up. So the next few months should be pretty exciting.
Lots of tricky questions for Shaun to answer in March….maybe that’s why he is coming over;-)

Morning Culpepper. Ggp will definitely be putting some hedging in place, as that not only makes commercial sense, but will be a requirement of the lending banks. Shaun has extensive knowledge of all the options open to him. I am sure it will be material to ggp and so will be released through an RNS. Doubt that NC will need to say anything but unless you are a shareholder in NC, we don’t care what they do.

If you read Alistair McCleod and Tim Marshall and London Paul then you add in what’s going on with China and the Middle East and Putin with China and India then it becomes crystal clear.
Zoltan is forcing the experts to take note. Don’t expect to see it on cnbc or the bbc though. Their agenda is strictly their own and if they knew it, run by Keynesian orthodoxy. When it’s reported by them it will far too late to help those who have a typical portfolio mix.

For those who are more interested in the bigger picture, I would also recommend The Sirius Report on twitter and their occasional podcast. Plus a brilliant interview with Andrew Maguire and London Paul (of the Sirius report) on the Kinesis Money podcast from mid December.
The world is changing and this will affect the sp a lot more than whether the decline is advancing at 8.5m per day or 9m….IMO. (Very) exciting times.

I am really not that bothered about what mms do, who is shorting etc, which instos are buying blah blah.
I am far more interested in the super big picture. Imo some of really really need to get your heads around the super big changes going on all around us. Petroyuan, global south, Tim Marshall, Zoltan Poszar, China’s gold buying, US debt etc etc all point the way to the future. Ggp and others will be the beneficiaries, and so, if you really understand how the future is unfolding, will you.

The biggest missed timelines are for the FS, DTM and first ore. These have been missed by many years. A few funding rounds have been missed by months/years too.
