No they will not build a mine. If you think that they have the expertise you are completely wrong. And I am not sure if they even know who does have the expertise. Its a long list of unknown unknowns for them.

If they could build a mine then they could probably mine it.

I meant permits, licences, land access agreements etc. No diggers, no plans and no shafts.

I now think there is ZERO chance that Solgold will build a mine (actually thought it was pretty close to zero beforehand). No skills, no staff and no time. Think of the challenges Rio are having at Oyu Tolgoi.

Having said that they probably will do a lot of the pre mining stuff to get it ready. This should enhance value and get any bidding start at a higher base price.

One other point is that there is a desire to get some financial institutions buying share on the market. Whether they be MidEast wealth funds or pension funds or commodity etfs etc etc.

Agree SB and MH01. The best course imo would be to give a few shares to the locals to support the ASX listing, but not enough to satisfy them. This will allow for a strong after market. Of course a compliance listing, with no shares issued, might also achieve this but from my understanding the Aussie authorities pushed back on the zero share issuance idea. Hence why it was postponed.

Bamps you maybe right about London, but its not the mining finance capital of the world that it once was. Compulsory superannuation in Australia has meant that it has a massive savings pool that needs a home, and it grows each month. A small % of the Aussie Super is a huge % of GGP and if that can be attracted it will outdo whats left in UK. IMO!

Far too much of Aussie savings is restricted to Aussie stocks, so I think an ASX listing will unlock that pool. They are very proud/nationalistic/obsessive (use your own epithet) about their country and Havieron appears to be in another country until its listed there.

Shaun needs to reduce barriers to invest in GGP, and I think he will.

Bamps, for once I think you are wrong. An ASX listing (or changes to UK listing rules that allow Aussies to invest here) will make a substantial difference to the sp imo. There is a wall of money in Australia and its very mining centric. Sadly that is no longer the case in the UK.

The reason why Aussies arent interested in GGP is mainly cos they cant invest in it, and it isnt listed in Australia.

I dont like MoM at all (just a bunch of foul mouthed kids thinking they know it all), but they do know their audience - which is probably more foul mouthed Australian kids.....

RK, my guess is that NM will raise more than $3bn from its asset sales. So although I think its unlikely, it could raise its div, do a share buyback AND buy Solgold/Cascabel.

I realise that its only 20% of our asset base, but there is a new podcast from Sprott Radio released today, giving a superb overview of the worlds copper market. Even taught me a bit about the market and I used to trade NF metals.

The above is a podcast on Sprott Radio. It came out today. Its a brilliant overview of the world copper market. As a retired N-F metals trader even I found it informative, so most of you would gain a lot from listening to it.

Makes you want to invest in a copper developer........
