SB, whether or not gdxj are required to own the shares in the index in their correct weights or not is somewhat moot, as they are required to track the index. The best way to track that same index is to own the correct amount of shares of the companies in that index.
Not quite sure what your point is here. You clearly know a bit about the workings of the market but seem to have a different agenda to most.
The past behaviour of Van Eck is to be completely price insensitive to their actions, and their actions in the past have triggered large, possibly unjustified, price movements. Given the recent massive increase in shares in issue any share buying is unlikely to trigger the same sort of price movement, so that would suggest that Van Eck should be more likely, not less likely, to want to trade Ggp than they had in the past.
So I find your posts illogical and don’t stand up to any analysis or rational thought.
But of course you are entitled to even the most bizarre opinions as am I entitled to call them out.
