As I have said many many times, if you want a 5% dividend pa, sell 5% of your shares each year. Same effect (Unless you are Australian with the franking credit that is).

Rkama, China produces 350-400 tons of gold a year. So the official reports that it only has 2200 tons of reserves, is shall we say unlikely. There are many other entities that will own Chinese gold. Many think the real number is 20,000 to 40,000. Certainly more than the US’s unaudited and diluted 8300 tons.

My guess is that it will take a few years for the ASX liquidity to match the London liquidity, unless there is a corporate transaction. Hopefully we will move off AIM to a main listing within a year.

But long term the direction of travel is obvious, though I doubt it will affect many on here.

At the time of the decision to wind up SVE, the company thought that they would distribute about 0.20 of a Ariana share per SVE. That its about 0.10 suggests to me that the liquidators have been having a party at our expense.

One of the most important of many maxims is run your winners, cut your losers. That along with sell rallies and buy dips, which can sometimes be a contradiction to the former!

In my experience the average PI does the opposite and thats why so many lose money.

There is a great book called 'Simple but not easy', which pretty much sums up investing.

I dont know, and never have known, any company like I know GGP. Without question the smartest CEO I have ever known in over 50 years of business. I put/keep my money invested in what I know best.

JD, obviously I agree. As I have a v large investment in GGP I feel I ought to read all the posts that I haven't filtered in case I miss something from the posters whose opinion I value. The problem comes when we are bombarded by some posters who appear to have just invested their pocket money and expect the share price to double as soon as they buy. I obviously need to filter more.

Its clear to me that the last few announcements from the company show a pathway to increasing production towards 1m oz pa, if they can bring the HG WDD into production quickly, and Havieron is at least 4.5mt pa. This will ensure the shares trade at an ath in the next two years with some assumptions on AISC and product prices.

If I worry about some things its not the GGP sp. It would be the gold price, what China plans to do with its UST holdings and the POTUS, in that order. But speedy assures me I needn't worry about the former...

If you think the price is too low, then buy.

If you think the price is too low but dont buy then you either have too many or you are a very st trader who is hoping rather than knowing.

CJ, P/E ratios are calculated on A/T earnings, not fcf.

Wiltshireman, I I expect thats because you have only invested in failing companies that did consolidations, which is often the case. But not always.

Who knows where this will lead but its definitely a major event. It may make most on here an unseemly amount of fiat, but it also might mean that many people will lose their jobs. So easy on the pride cos we know that goes before a fall.

I just researched a bit about candle charts and the one we have just painted today, with help from Elly1. Looks like we have a beauty, though I defer to those who are experts on such matters.

Two great interviews today. Shaun is prepping the market for the March qtr results and the ASX listing. You get pretty much all the answers that he is allowed to say in these two interviews. So you would hope no more silly questions from newbies, or even oldbies. But I wouldnt bet on that.

SR, there are many ways it could happen. Initially there may be instos who can trade on both markets who are prepared to buy and/or sell. There may be some of the MMs who are prepared to make a market off their own book. Even you might like to offer your shares at a price where you think you can cover them when London opens, at a profit. Eventually there will be enough holders in Australia who will have buying and selling interest. The two quotes will be linked by people who will happily buy and sell in both markets hoping to make a bit of money along the way.

The shares will never trade at exactly the same price due to never being open at the same time and currency conversion, but they wont be too far out due to arbitrage possibilities.

Mark, what non core assets do we have that would get a payment to merit a dividend?

GRQ, why don’t you like consolidation? It should have zero effect on your wealth and the company’s ability to perform.

Dividends are a tricky one when we are cross listed as Australian franking credits mean that Aussies will want a dividend. I am not sure how this affects UK tax resident investors but I think this disadvantages us. I am not a fan of dividends as per Speedys view. But for those who want a 5% dividend, just sell 5% of your holding. The effect is the same. I expect to have a fraction of my holding by the time Shaun pays a dividend- which I hope is after 2030.

And the person who thinks we are making $1000 an ounce in the first quarter….Wrong! If to mine ore from Telfer the aisc is $1480 and falling, then processing ROM should be a fraction of that.

Lastly to the person who thinks we closed at 12p, I suggest you get a new supplier of price data.
