Looking good for the yield and surely this,ll get back into the 100 soon!? afterall apart from gkn, this is the only other one from the original ftse30 back in 1935, and its still going strong!

Now thats what i like about lonr,everything else (apart fromcosalt) down and lonr to the rescue to lift ones spirits, i,m still waiting for double figures and beyond here,patience will pay off in the end,good luck all!

its certainly got an interesting trading range to play around in,been an interesting day so far,got shot of sam on a 50 quid loss,bought some more cosalt and just "had to" do an average down on hawk but will reduce my exposure on a small bounce as dont like going into the weekend with an open position of more than a couple of grand just in case the financial world falls off another cliff! catch up later bud

a steady eddie,yes lots of promise,a bit boring really but quite nice to have a safe one with slow growth etc and i think it goes ex-div next week(?), not a massive yield but its there and progressive,a tuck away and forget one really

I,ve been in and out of northgates twice in the last month,good recovery play and nice and volatile for day trading,jarvis was one of my "sold too earlys",carillion and costain both longtermers for me as well as balfours which has suddenly got interesting in this sector,havent got any house builders at the moment as they,re all in debt up to their eyeballs and not building/selling any stock so no growth except maybe on a recovery play but think thats already happened.

okay cheers for that,always good to establish thr range of prices as much as the open and closing prices,will keep an eye on them. okay hmv,new director in feb,bought shares at 1.38,they went to 1.50 and have drifted down and he,s just bought another 20k on the 8th a bit over todays i think, recently gone ex-div and its c.7% at this price,cover over 1.5 so fairly secure,think its dropped ex-div as they do but not recovered yet, my strategy 10k owned at average of about 1.10 incl costs, sell half at 1.25 hopefully within the t-10,pocket the 700 difference and keep 5k at this average for the yield in my investment account,already had a few at a higher figure-well thats the plan but plans do change,so its not really a recovery play as such,just low on its range and might get higher on the seasonal aspect alone

no i already had a thousand of them,was contemplating knocking them out earlier in case of a dilutive rights issue but didnt get round to it,thank goodness, i put a lengthy post on that site but no takers,basically its gone the other way to say rexam which did the usual topple on the back of it,will take up the rights as they,re a decent company. I,m watching home and the defence things but will take a look at those psk as well,got a good feeling about hmv but it,ll take a bit of time,reckon they,re good for 1.30/1.40,wrong side of the divi though

I think i,m going to have to buy some of these soon before i get "found out"! Cosalt or mwa,tough call really,think they,re both wild cards if i,m honest but my position hasnt changed today on either. Have seemed to have got "stuck" on those sam things,looking for an exit about 3.3+ and mta about the same,only bought them cos i was joining the herd and since i just bought another 5k of hmv,will need to raise funds next week or risk selling some proper shares i.e. ones i know more about! My brother in law was brought up in africa and suffered the fate of your contacts you mentioned on mwa but always looking for the positive,he met my sister when they came "back" to england

i think the value is in bby itself,a good longtermer and i,ll be taking up the rights,if you,re not into them yet, i dont think they,ve gone ex-rights yet,although the shares rose a bit on the news

Yes, shouldnt take these things too seriously i guess,just thought that guy coming out with a going back to 6p comment could have unnecessarily frightened newbies to sell without checking out the facts, just keeping an eye on them as i,ve got more than i want,again and i,m anxious to grab some more HMV at these levels,the current obsession! To be honest, its always gut feeling with me as i said to sundancer on mwa,lets face it however much research you do,the moment you own the shares anything can happen and if it was that predictable we,d all be rich dont you think. My only other project today is to try and find out who BBY are after and i,ve got a contact looking into the rumour mill,are you into them at all?

Now wouldnt it be nice if balfours were stalking this one for a take over,i suspect not as there,d be lots of buying by now, oh well theres always the divi!

As we,ve always said, as long as it stays over 30, we,re okay with them. Besides, i just know if i sold mine,they,d go up to 40 the next day, perhaps a dummy sale is required!

I,ll take a look at them mate,just posted you a rather philosophical one on mwa, then a light hearted one to prove i,m not completely obsessed with them,so tempted to put "moving forward" type of quotes in but dont want to upset gemma,ha,ha! Happy that my hmv went up 1.5p after i bought them,naffed off with mwa and have an open view on my newly acquired sam holding,cosalt doing bugger all but holding tight.

Yes,that ones getting a bit heated i think,theres someone saying they,re on their way back to 6p which could be a hot topic, have bought more on the way down as i bought a load on the way up and sold them at the top,perhaps i should have just kept my original ones! Just had a shuffle around and bought a sensible holding of HMV,like the price and the yield and theres been director buys recently,they seem to bob around between a quid and 1.40,retail i know but.......just reminded me of buying some more BAE recently at 3.03,which i sold on at just under 3.30 i think but kept my base holding and a few extras and got the average down to about 3.20. Still watching UMC but they seem reluctant to get to our target area. I,m at a loss to see which way mwa is going today but sub-10 must be a definate buy for you? Also bought 50k of SAM earlier but will knock out for a small profit as i dont know much about them,bit of cash on the balance sheet to counter debts and heavy buying today,have a look
