Well,i got busy at work so no trades for me,i noted your post on cosalt,how frustrating is that for us,mind you at least you,d made up some of the losses elsewhere,i just checked the closing price of hawk and it aint pretty! Never mind out with the boys tonight and talking to the girlfriend again,well just about!!!!

Yes done a couple of refurbs myself,always costs more than the original plan,more into the outside stuff myself,love gardening and using stuff people throw away as plant pots etc,built a small garden wall and put all sorts of stuff in it,bottles,bits of metal etc and its still standing!!! I,m not too busy with work today so in danger of buying/selling a few too early so will probably desist. Having had a decent go at cosalt just not convinced i would be happy with a small holding in them,to just sit there because i know it wont and i,m fearful that some of these "recovery" stocks, i.e. if they havent got going over the last month or so,will they ever and not sure i want another one to "worry" about and have to watch closely!

Picking winning shares,thats a good one mate,the only ones of mine that are winning are my centrica etc today,just imagine if i,d have just gone for them rather than chucking a third of my share money into the likes of non-flying things and all those speckie ones that i invariably sell too quick cos i,m worried they,ll come back down just as fast,well i,d at least have had a few more divis,but probably less "fun"......i mean no one goes onto national grid or glaxo etc, although BBY is quite a laugh these days. So the refurb continues unabated then,lucky that you can do that kind of work yourself,hope you dont end up having to get "someone in" as i do whenever i start any jobs in the house!!

I see you,re torturing yourself looking at cosalt again,stop it now!!!! My dealings are stalled due to those damn flying things sitting deeper and deeper in their nest. Sold half of my innovation at a slight loss and topped up on lonrho and mwana a little and paused on cosalt as i,d only be able to buy a small amount,do you reckon its worth having say 10k of them?

I concur! So it wasnt you either,lol.... Always been a bit of a wildcard this one,but as you say,the spread of interests they have should give some sensible cash generation over time and when the politics in this part of the world improve,thats when we make our money in these because then those fingers in pies will be worth a lot of dosh and highly in demand,good luck all!!!

My biggest irritation of the day was those innovation/TIG things, 25k open at 13p,thought after that weekend ft plug it would be at least the chance of making enough to pay for the paper,wrong! Glad rolls royce did well for you and hopefully those DOO will pop back up,those sort of bthings normally do if you give it enough time

Quite,over 50p would be comfortable for the time being,have been on there a few times today attempting to explain investor support,good corporate governance(no idea what it means but its true as thats what my broker told me and sounds good!) and the fact that there have been successful placings NOT rights issues or open offers and the difference therein but deaf ears i fear! Cant you suggest DB buys a few himself,that normally gets them going a bit!

Morning bud! Went for a few TIG on the bell,down a bit now but will be out on any rise,no other plans yet aside from now trading out of my self-imposed open position,why do i do that eh? Interesting choices in your SIPP,have had carillion a few times and BP is my buy if they,re under a fiver sell high 5,s share,hence why not holding them currently! Women,totally agree,so irrational but indispensible too! Didnt go in on DOO but on the watch list,just think so many are suceptible to profit-taking irrespective if they are toppy or have more in the tank,i would!Catch up later mate

I see the other one is now full of 3 quid takeover targets, i reckon you,ve started quite a debate there mate! Personally, i,m reasonably open-minded but need to sell something end of next week to cover an open position bacause i,ve been topping up everytime they go below 40 and so although i,m going to stay top-heavy,i may need to knock out a few on a small rise as being top heavy is one thing but being so top heavy that you,re totally unbalanced..... just wish they,d have a quicker move to the mid-50,s as thats suerely where they ought to be now!! plans are fluid but overall, i,m happy to be top heavy and looks like there was a plug in the independent at the weekend...catch up in the week mate

MONI, I,m going to be patient on,PMK,similarly mwa,trading up and down a base holding,HAWK as i said top heavy but need to topslice 50/60 a few,but like you however much research we do,all thats out of the window once you own the things,anything can happen,just remember having daddled with bowleven,in and out c.20, and one morning they had a 1 pound-ish takeover spike,just the kind of thing that hawk could do,or maybe the size of my biggest ever consolidated bet has made me dellusional!? Sounds like you,ve had your hands full at home,me too a succession of rows with the on/off girlfriend and issues with my 14 yearold pain in the ar.. Regarding the big four, my only reluctance is having had rockhopper and desire earlier in the year at silly prices(low) and as i did with most things at that time,flogged them for small profits hence for completely wrong reasons the feeling is they are too much now and have had their rise,whereas the flying things i,m pretty much at the lowest so surely they need to at least catch up a bit!!! As you,ve pointed out somewhere,a very frustrating share at times but i had them last year(from memory) at about this price and sold them all at 60 and watched them go over a quid so i,m in the dogged belief that i dont want to sell too quick again ,my only other real success,as opposed to bits and bobs this year was my second sitting of johnson press which i was in the second time they drifted down to 15 and out as they hit 40 , it was a bit like deja vue(is there an"e" in that?) as they,d done it before and i traded heavily in those parameters with a degree of recklessness as i,m now doing in hawk,time will tell. The shares that move around the 30p mark was a brief facination of mine but i ended up losing on inchcape recently so am also playing with the big boys a bit,like balfours for instance,i just know they are a 3 quid share so have topped up heavily in anticipation thereof but they are ones i dont worry about,and in fact my blues are doing okay and i,ve got the timing right on them far better than my gamblers,purely because i,m covered if you like by the divi so i don

Cheers for the update there mate. Have had a quick browse at DOO,interesting one,flip a coin for increase or decrease in the SP on monday i reckon,but one things for sure,it wont just sit there! The HAWK saga-there are some very interesting takeover figures being banded about on the board here but my own target is a reduction as i,ve accumulated stupid amounts of them and i,m getting anxious,so although i,m going to stay top heavy i need to knock out say 10 grands worth on a small rise to address an open position i allowed myself to get into last week,hopefully some early doors action as there was a mention in the independent i understand. My other "cunning plan" is a dawn raid on TIG/innovation group purely on the strenght of the weekend ft guy in the money section going on about them, 10% nett if i get there early enough and am lucky. I,ve only got a few 100 quid in NVTA so not concerned, whereas 45 grand in nighthawk is just stupid,or is it? Cosalt has been a nasty one for us as i genuinely believed we,d see at least 20 again and to sell at a loss in the end,worse for you due to the amounts you held,but frankly if ever there was a candidate for de-listing to save money......as i understand it, a full listing is a couple of hundred thousand a year? if so thats a significant saving if you,re trying to stay afloat,we could of course be wrong.........12 hour powercut! which part of the country do you live in mate? onto another page....

Well,just thought i,d get in first after you resurfaced on nhawk finally! Okay,so i now hold shed loads of hawk,moni,mwa,pmk, reducing down,lonr,songbird,and those noventa things on the gamblers. "Proper" shares,bby,bae,glaxo,centrica,nat grid,uu,scottish and southern,sainsburys,speedyhire and a handful of severn trent plus those almost unmentionable rbs in an isa at 4 quid average. Keeping the good yielders,will reduce hawk on a rise but no spare funds. Work is busy but frustrating running a business,staff etc and i split up with my girlfriend too! Mind you,my biggest annoyance is sitting on a 4 grand hawk loss. Dumped cosalt as you did,heard a sniff of delist somewhere(unsubstantiated) and was sick of them and gave up on raymarine finally too. Mind you,the good news is i finally learned how to copy and paste as you saw! Much like sharedreamz,seemed to spend the last 9 months or so trying to own a bit of every share listed and the last couple of months getting down to the ones i believe in but not so sure my gamblers are paying off,the blue chips i,m happy with. Okay well you,re probably sporting a hangover from the party so post when you are ready and i,ll check in over the weekend and hear your news too mate,missed you this week and was happy to see you on an otherwise grim hawk earlier!
