They,ve got beaucoup fingers in pies,leftover from the tiny rowland days when they had a rep for doing business with anyone as long as theres money to be made,a bit dodgy but i guess thats the african way,can be very volatile,no yield but a total wildcard. They,ve got interests in hotels,air travel,port facilities,ag land,tractors all sorts of stuff, i,ve got a base holding and mess about with a few here and there,decent liquidity up to 100k blocks,hope that fills in some background. RBS,ouch,lost a fortune in them last year,never to return except a full years ISA in 2007,thats an even bigger ouch!!!!!

Okay you can now officially call me the boring investor,made a couple of hundred on the GKP,and put that plus the UU money into sainsburys,balfours and averaged down on speedys,well maybe not that boring,just safe(i hope)

The firm is called" unilife medical solutions ltd "and the tickers are, ASX-UNI / OTCPK-UNIFF, all a bit double dutch or should i say topsy turvy for me but one of those patent applied for things,pre-filled syringes,might be worth looking into as thats your bag?

by the way my sisters bloke in west australia keeps sending me stuff about mining etc as he,s into shares and trying to get "into" my sister(!), anyway he,s been going on about a firm called "unilife",something to do with medical syringes, i,ve tried unsuccessfully to put the pdf file here for you to have a look at,if you cant find it on the internet and are interested i can copy and paste all of it

Okay bud, i have great faith in your pharma research,especially after PYM!!! Looks like they broke the computers today,not overly bothered myself but i guess it must be a "mare" for anyone margin trading or whatever it is they call it when you dont actually own the shares(mind you i can think of several i wish i didnt own at the moment!!). Okay it was bye bye united utilities at 4.94 pretty much on the bell,didnt like the offwat thing and waiting for the potential dividend cuts,so do i average down on BBY or sit on the cash,keeping it blue rather than chasing anyother losses,any ideas? Was sorely tempted mate,like you say plenty of running water etc!!!! Was tempted to chop in my UU,as unsure which way it,ll go with the offwat thing tomorrow and average down on BBY,but didnt so fingers crossed. I actually flogged my m and g corporate bond up 10% and divi recently pocketed and topped up on SDY yesterday,figured they,d turn in some not as bad as expected bad figures and as is the way these days go up, err i got the second part wrong,so now i,ve got even more of the damn things and an even bigger paper loss but not as big as my nighthawk! The gamblers are in more or less total disharmony but the blues seem to be okay except BBY, but that type of share isnt a worry just a nuisance really. Anyway, got bored for a bit earlier and had a GKP punt,10k at 88.47 but not making a great deal of it as i,ll sell at any profit,just imaging if they opened at 95p and i actually made a few quid,is it possible? Hope yourDOO come off and as far as cosalt goes,theres no point in speculating i guess if they survive they,ll be worth a lot more but if that takeover thing moves them a bit like last time,i reckon we,ll be out of them dont you?

Dont worry mate,it doesnt seem to want to lift off its nest just yet,there was some talk on the site about the II,s wanting to offload some big numbers from the 35p placing but in my opinion,they will want to be unloading at a hugely higher figure than a few pence,so i think its just people scratching around for reasons it hasnt gone up and coming up with none,fact is its gone quiet after the overhype prior to the agm and people drift away rather than see the potential if they can hang on. Unlike VOG, they,ve actually got the stuff rather than drilling a few holes hoping to find some! If VOG goes sub-5, i might have a few but it,ll be on a short lead. Back on the "nesting birds" the secret site is harvey nash and apfifty i talk to on that one but dont blow the cover!
