Speedy got to call you up on your message...the jam is happening now. Including the first Cory contract we have announced 75 mill worth of contracts in a month and obviously more is in the pipeline, so yes in that sense there is jam tomorrow and lots of it. To infer there isn't any jam now is making me question your motives on this bb
Lol, love your username but I reckon it needs changing to pugwash ;) as far as I know it is still going ahead. I would urge everyone on the call to utilise the chat function when the BOD discuss the shareprice. They need to outline a proper plan of action to root out the cause of the SP decline and what they intend to do about it. If anyone is dissatisfied with their answer then on the call is the time to air it in my opinion. We don't all get the chance to do face to face meet ups so let's get as much out of the event as possible. Gla
Careful what you wish for Nobby ... A 1.7billion contract will probably crash this SP to 5p! :P
Speedy, it's asked at every investor meet up and the same response is given....closed period. I have put forward the question again and a desire for share options as part of pay if the stock answer is given again
Just to entertain the topic (I firmly believe a placing isn't needed for the reason others have said). There's no chance a placing will be on better terms than the debt facility. Not a good idea in the slightest imho. Don't mean to be rude Mike :)
That pretty much sums up my experience with the Harl ones Si :p
Looking forward to it! Despite the performance of the SP I am more confident than ever that I might actually get some money back. By the end of march 2023 we could all be extremely happy indeed :)
Hi Chris
I've submitted some questions covering quite a wide range of topics. If I had to pick 1 to get answered it is probably around a strategy to improve reputation and SP performance.
I'm assuming from JW's post that islandmagee will have quite a meaty update so will make use of the live q and a facility also :)
Very true speedy and praise the lord that reputation hasn't been picked up by Ben Wallace or the MOD! ;)
A CEO with equally poor, no I say even poorer rep than JW, is Hanno penguin of Nccl fame. That SP rose way over 100 percent this week. My point is it may matter not what the rep of the CEO is, perceived value will out in the end. I'm pretty confident the revenue and SP will rise, otherwise like yourself I'd sell up. Why don't you jump back in? It's gonna be a hell of a ride at least.... and I very much enjoyed your Twitter battles with the nimbys :)
Perhaps it is JWs reputation that has meant this LinkedIn post has gone pretty much under the radar on the chatboard. As mcadder points out, he is stating that the m55 contract isn't even the biggest development! Surely this means islandmagee is making significant progress. Before JW's previous behaviour, such a teasing statement would have got us all jumping up and down with excited speculation. I'm excited to hear what exactly this is referring to, but at the same time I question whether it's just a ramp. Time will tell (Thursday at the latest!) Let's hope for fireworks :) gla
Bubble your bowness reference got me looking for the tender. 5 mill I believe. Anyway whilst on the site I saw this
https://bidstats.uk/tenders/2022/W11/770834776
Daera are tendering 22mill for a boat build.
When Ben Wallace spoke last week at the defence committee, he mentioned the NI government looking to order some builds....I wonder if this is what he was referring to. In essence he was saying h&w are well suited for upcoming work not only in defence but including that of the NI government also
What a difference between 2 articles. Think someone at the telegraph has it in for us! Unbiased reporting from defense news reads much better and I couldn't have written anything better myself. More write ups like that will see us all good.
Re today, it's very disappointing that such fantastic news has resulted in such a meager rise, but I'm not too bothered. I see my, and our, investment as being that much
more assured today. The sp will rise to reflect such a groundbreaking mod foot in the door contract and all the positives that brings. Markets are poo but value works out in the end, or so I'm told. Gla, today is a good day for us :)
Yes that's roundabout right stokey but he specifically mentioned infrastructure too and used the example of nissan in Sunderland who invested in people and facilities to make them the best in Europe.
Si, no specific foreign company was mentioned but I think it's fair to say at this point there are 2 runners in this race, us and the UK team.
Watch the first hour when you get chance, honestly it's confidence boosting that despite all our misery we have a good rep with the defence minister :)
Morning all,
First off thanks for sharing the link. If anyone has the time to watch back it was really useful, particularly the first hour.
It was reassuring that Ben Wallace mentioned h&w on 2 particular points - the NIO tender for 6 boats, and also the fss. He spoke warmly of the progress h&w are making to date especially increasing the footprint across the different sites - these words came after the union man wrote to him to highlight the strike issue we had recently so was really good to hear. (we might dislike JW and his vision that has lost us lots of money, but Ben Wallace is impressed by the strategy / direction of travel) . Also he made a solid case for team resolutes bid and I really liked the fact that he would welcome foreign investment that tied into the fss. I.e. navantia paying to upgrade our yard(s) as part of the package. (Can't remember specifically, but I'm sure this was mentioned within the team resolute bid package?).
I am convinced even more now that team resolute has a great shot at getting the fss.
Also of interest was bae getting a slating for taking what will be 11 years to build HMS Glasgow - they're reputation is pretty poor which can't harm team resolute in the slightest.
Finally, although Gavin Robinson did a good job that led into Ben Wallaces reassuring remarks, the NIO really have to step up and help us. The Scots are so passionate about retaining all the work for themselves and I wish we had the same political and union backing.

Changed the title for you Richard :p

Just an update. Crux is they have resubmitted the business case for the funds to build the vessels and are waiting to hear back.
Like much else, just a case of waiting and waiting and....gla
