Mathsprof. No I don't think you are mad as ultimately I believe this share will rise as debt and interest rates fall and demand is maintained albeit it's a medium term goal. I don't think it's going to be a straight line though.

To be truthful I also don't think it's at the bottom in the short term. I think it it quite possible to dip below £11. In April I said I wouldn't buy more unless it dropped below £9 and we haven't got close to that figure. I have reviewed my personal position and will look to buy more if it drops below £11 on my return from holiday.

As I originally said I totally agree with your investment view on the ups and downs of equity investing. I'm a long term holder of CCL, I don't day trade, have no intention of selling and am up on my holding and happy with my on board credit as a regular Carnival cruiser.

At $20 that would suppress CCL by over £1.

My comments were to suggest that putting up prices does not necessarily translate into an increase in the price of shares. Sometimes it can do exactly the opposite.

However it was you who compared fuel price hikes to the travel industry and to be frank your analogy is totally flawed and incorrect. Others have posted clear evidence of significant increases in the cost of travel.

Just by way of example.

Brent Crude has increased by circa 15 percent since the end of 2019 (pre COVID). Over the same period petrol and diesel have increased by circa 15 percent. If you take a look at the share price over the same period the price has ......... Wait for it.......... Dropped 13 percent! ( Shell has increased slightly).

Cruises have gone up from pre COVID prices significantly more than fuel. They have gone up significantly post COVID at an even greater rate. In fact current fuel prices have hardly gone up at all. Pump prices were similar to now. I can recall fuel dropping to £1 per litre when they couldn't sell it during lockdown!

Apart from that the economics and demand for the products are as polls apart as they could possibly be. If petrol increased by multiples there would still be a demand for it because at the moment without it everything would grind to a halt, including the cruise industry.

If I were you I'd dump your CCL, walk away and buy BP and Shell.

CUK closed at 16.89 which equates to a 21p drop from our £13.13 close. Opening above £12.92 will be positive.

We closed when CUK was at 17.16 so about 12p drop for us at the moment.

Need to divide by 1.3 dollars to the pound now, so £13.49 opening. We have also seen that drifting back to yesterday's close. Let's hope that it can hold at worst and push on for better.

Botbot, regards your tooth I didn't mean to sound sarcastic. You truly have my sympathy. I'm sure it's miserable. I hope you manage one way or the other to sort it out, or it settles down and gives you peace whilst on holiday.

Botbot, you are absolutely right about a private dentist. They would have taken it out or still will if you are willing to pay. About £225 for a surgical extraction.

You know what they say..... If you pay peanuts you get an NHS dentist! 🥴

Been on both Arvia and Iona twice. One further booking on Arvia in the Caribbean (incl repositioning) next March. Overall our experience has been positive however I would try to avoid school holidays because Arvia in particular because of its itinerary is very family orientated.

Pools are small but there are lots of bubble pools. There are ample sunbeds but hogging beds is badly policed. Food is fine but nothing amazing. Never had any problems with entertainment venues although you need to be fast out of the blocks to book the 710 club which is amazing ( I can appreciate virgin cruisers could miss out).

Personally for the money we pay it's great value for money.

IMHO it is nothing to do with fairness, it's to do with debt. Our debt is massive in comparison to Carnival and as for £35 per share in the near future, that's just not realistic until debt is down to very low double digit. In my humble opinion that is 5 years away. I will be happy to be proven wrong. In the meantime I happy to hold.
