T212 have just transfered my holding from the uk to US market at zero cost. They are the full share and not the DL.

They have dragged their feet but it would appear they have achieved a successful outcome.

I'm on 212 and I still can't trade which is very disappointing particularly as they hit 28 dollars on Thursday 7th May. My shares are still showing as uk stock.

Thanks Mathsprof. I agree in the value of us migrating to the US CCL ticker. Obviously we would need to keep an eye on both boards until this one dries up.

Trading 212 still showing LSE CCL as a holding but suspended. NYSE CCL however is available for trading.

I suspect it was take a day or 2 for my LSE holding to be converted.

As far as I see it there will be little or no uplift at all when we convert. If you discount the price movement after our close on Friday which will settle either way on Monday the difference in the UK price and the US price is purely down to the exchange rate.

Therefore when we sell we would be pro rata where we are now.

I believe that the last trading day on the London exchange is 6th May.

Us extension on Russia oil sanctions. However Brent currently up 4.77%!

Personally I'm very happy with T212. Very cost effective for playing around with day trading with small amounts. 3.8% on any cash held. Really cost effective for buying minimum shares for incentives i.e. Mitchell and Butler (only 1 share needed for 10 vouchers for 20% off).

I haven't noticed any significant spread either. Plus if it is a penny then you'd be able to trade anything less than circa 4000 shares (75k) before HL is better. (I do hold a HL SIPP). Just my opinion of course.

Trading 212. They pay 3.8% on cash held in the stocks and shares ISA, plus no trading fees (other than tax etc).

That's correct but CCL have over 100 ships of which 11 run on LNG.

I guess one cruise is a limited sample size to compare however having sailed with Cunard 6 times I would say HAL compare very well. They are less formal.

We have been told that comparethatcruise.com is worth looking at as it acts as an intermediate to get all cruise companies to offer their best deal.

Topo, we took it as a complete package including flights via US. Others flew via canada or Madrid from UK. There were options however to book cruise only. There were also numerous hotel options in Buenos Aires and Santiago.

holland america and oosterdam.

oosterdam is a similar class as arcadia and queen elizabeth and over 20 years old.

cabins were perhaps a little tired but quite acceptable. public spaces were pleasant, modern and smart. casino was large with smoking area (didn't use either as not bag). numerous bars of different styles. crows nest was for us a little disappointing as it was more of a day lounge rather than a ****tail bar although many others liked it. shopping area was weak. good gym.

entertainment was of a very good standard and varied. often reflection cruise itinerary. numerous daytime activities and not many trying to sell sell sell or charged.

food in the dining rooms and buffet was exceptional in terms of hygiene, quantity and quality. this is a biggy for me and i don't use the term exceptionally lightly. often reflecting countries visited. very little queuing to get seated.

staff from top to bottom couldn't do enough to make your cruise memorable and special. they were happy, obliging, attentive, professional and smart e.g. tried to remember your name and preferences etc. the captain did 4 presentations with q & as plus lots of commentary from the bridge.

overall holland america came up 'trumps' (all lower case). we can't praise them highly enough and will definitely look to cruise with them again!

s.america and antarctica

a fabulous itinerary. throughout the cruise were 3 scientists/antarctica experts who carried out 12 lectures ranging from shackleton, the beagle and the trans-polar expedition to ice, life in antarctica and weather and polar currents. they also provided hours of commentary throughout the scenic cruising whilst we were given full access to the bow.

started with a 3 night stay in buenos aires, 2 in a hotel and 1 on board. what a great vibrant city. we'll worth a visit and steaks to die for.

sea day

uruguay 2 ports including montevideo which was a little disappointing.

argentina puerto madryn. good port for whale watching. decent beach and water front.

falkland islands. stanley. big highlight. lots to see in the town plus lots of penguin colonies. dolphins seals etc.

sea day (drake passage).

antarctica. 4 full days in and around the ross peninsula. absolutely mind blowing. before i went i couldn't describe it. now i have been, i have no words to describe it! all 4 days scenic cruising.

sea day. drake passage. this should have been 2 days but due to medical emergency completed in 1. spare day was used by captain to complete a scenic visit to cape horn and tierra del fuego.

ushuaia argentina. interesting place with the feel of a frontier town. port from which the general belgrano sailed!

chile. visits to punte aranas, chacabuco and puerto montt. fjords including beagle channel and straits of magellen. plenty of great scenic cruising throughout chile.

summary. a trip of a life time. our best cruise by a country mile. an adventure more than a cruise. 3 cruis

Bot, we all appreciate that your close prices are accurate and we appreciate that closed market swings are inevitable particularly in these times.

BOT, Sorry my question was perhaps perceived as a challenge. It was not.

I appreciate that the exchange rate has and always will impact the sterling value of our shares even when we sell post 1 for 1 exchange.

I do think however that a stronger pound (and other currencies)can have a positive impact on the NYSE CCL share price, as the majority of the fleet price in dollars (booking and on board), therefore it's cheaper for non America's to travel and benefit CCL for example.

I accept fully your stance that exchange rates are a big factor. I just pose the point that they are only one matrix that influences our investment.
