Must admit when I saw it first mentioned on Sky News as part of paper review I got quite excited thinking it could be us but no matter I actually believe any success in this space is beneficial to SCLP as it increases focus on Cancer Vax.
Interesting 2 of the trial centres are amongst 4 listed in the SCIB 1/Combo trial though not melanoma so trial recruitment is occurring but we know there are doubts about continuing SCIB 1 trial in current form

Good news for Cancer Vax this morning from Oxford Vacmedix – a spin-out company of Oxford University – targeting survivors , a protein over-expressed by cancer cells and found in a large variety of cancers and let us hope that Modi 1 patients are treated ASAP so that we can get similar interest.

Hope all is good.
Believe you me I have moved on completely as accept you have winners and losers on AIM and done OK since this debacle and lucky enough to be not affected by here.
I am pleased for the winners but equally very sad for the losers who may have found it more difficult to move forward.
There have been a few encouraging signs of life here but the silence from FRR has been deafening and I remain hugely sceptical of any outcome here so basically written it off a very long time ago.
So yep apart from a bit of banter with Coggy I only look on here when I am looking at other share chat butvI do wish all LTH well here even if I strongly suspect we don’t expect much

Hi Dalester.In some ways I would say quite the opposite as SCLP are targeting both proteins.There is a chance any Nucleocapsid mutation could evade SCOV but vey likely that it will have much more effect than other Vax efforts which only target the Glyco protein

I was not aiming my response back to you and in fact was more a general response to anyone who was promoting the idea of some global anti Covid Vax conspiracy.
You are undoubtedly a great poster and your fantastic summary’s of CF presentations are so valuable.
I do want open debate on all sides and everyone has the absolute right to air their views but would prefer a balanced discussion rather than simply repetitive posting if ultra positive or negative views

Plus I feel by now most people on the Vax programme would just stay on it and the ones who are eligible for one but not it yet had may feel a bit more comfortable due to possibility of getting an AV.
However most folk left are pretty determined anti Vax ers and sceptical of of whole drug Approval system so can’t see it effecting how many taking the Vax in any major way

Hi Earache,I am not suggesting that there are never any corporate governance issues and I know from my own experience how tough and uncompromising the likes of Pfizer can be.
However what is being suggested by some is a huge scandal and cover up as part of some grand conspiracy to make money by manipulating Govts and regulatory authorities into Approving “ineffective and unsafe” products.
That is an absolute nonsense imo and a direct threat to public health and although everyone has the individual right to do as they wish those that seek to undermine confidence in Approved products and ultimately posing a threat to others lives then I feel they need to be robustly called out

Thanks for posting Wally but does anyone seriously think that a Company like Pfizer would deliberately mislead the FDA and try and hold back safety data in the pursuit of drug Appriobal.
Much more likely imo to be inadequate adherence to trial protocols by CRO staff.
The risk of having a class action against any drug Company is enough to ensure they will not cut obvious corners as if found guilty the CEO and Senior employees could well have a long spell in jail and billion dollar law suits and fines.

Would be disappointed if AGM was behind closed doors as the rest of the world in terms of holding meetings/ conferences indoors is full steam ahead and certainly in U.K.
By all means take appropriate measures but the room at Oxford is a big one where you can have discreet security if required and social distancing etc.
It us not only the opportunity to listen in person but the after AGM conversations with aBoD which are helpful

No one is saying he was the most effective or charismatic CEO but at least he spoke at other events than the AGM.
If people are quite happy to have a once a year opportunity to ask questions then I hope they do take the time and trouble to attend the AGM.
As far as I am concerned LD is an absolutely brilliant scientist who has done more than anyone else to progress the science here and has made by far the biggest contribution to SCLP by a huge margin.
The confidence of RM is again a very big positive but the jury is still out on her performance as a CEO as I have seen little evidence of her “ outstanding leadership qualities” quoted in the results RNS on those occasions I have seen her perform

Morning nice discussion and would be an excellent question for AGM about why CH left.
Not sure I buy the point about LDs Scientific workload resulting as an result of Covidity.Yes her overall workload will have increased since becoming CEO but I would be disappointed if her scientific efforts were not very much reduced as the role of a CEO is much broader than her previous role.
She has as well to my knowledge not reduced her Nottingham Uni commitments which again is indicative of having time to spare on non SCLP matters.
Whether she considered the mAB deal not good enough is a moot point as personally would rather them close a deal even if it was not full valuation in her mind.
There is no evidence in the latest RNS that any deal concerning this mAB is any closer and presumably they must have progressed the work to further unlock the value.
Again some will highlight the fact they are working on an additional 2 further candidates and they have no imminent need to raise more money so are in a better position to wait out for deals.
However,getting a deal over the line would soothe some investors minds as testimony of proof of concept and If this discrepancy is why CH left then I await the answer with interest

Kaiver they have access to a universal Malaria Vaccine and thanks to Earache for reminding about access to the malaria model which they can use to test in HC work as November is now Monday.
So another string to the bow and as for ORPH spinning out the non core assets it really makes common sense to do so in order to maximise their value whilst minimising cost to ORPH as well position ORPH in a better position to secure new pharma contracts and eventually to be either taken over or IPOd as a bigger entity as an exit strategy

The point JB makes is a good one and you will need a full p3 field based.The clinical endpoints would likely be proof of efficacy vs current strains but proof of a universal vaccine concept must include likely protection against future strains so you would need to demonstrate “ universality” vs common parts of flu strains or at least against the major types and enable predictive efficacy vs newer subbtyoes

As I said I can see the logic of incorporating the improved version and certainly we can all see the undoubted benefits of using the needle free system rather than electroporation method.That is a given.
But there is a repeated pattern of behaviour which is of concern given SCLP history.
The SCIB 1/Combo was first mentioned 6 years ago and we still have not treated 1 patient.First we had the SCIB 1 go past its use by date/ then we had the delay due to Trigid 2/ then the hokey kokey over the US submission/ then the Pandemic and difficulty in recruiting patients and now it is unlikely to start imo if they are going to change the delivery method.Then how long to get the SCIB 1 plus version available/ then the trial resubmission at what phase and what else will they need to do.
Will they need to re manu the whole of the new SCIB1 abd hiw long could that be delayed.
Look at Modi 1 now is the manu of all the conjugates complete or just advanced as per this morning s RNS.We are now promised safety data in 2022 and efficacy which will be the main catalyst in 2023.
So will there then be a Modi 1 plus we simply don’t know and more delays.
The Covidity trial at least seems on track so looks good there.
No one is denying that SCLP has the cash and resources to advance the science but they have always said they need data and there was nothing in the RNS to indicate that this apart from Covidity was going to come for some time
